I don't mind, honestly. As long as I can peel off the sticky tape and get to the card, all is good. I buy my own toploaders if I want to display my cards and use the used toploaders to send out when I trade or sell cards. Reuse, Reduce, Recycle!

As long as the card gets to its destination in an excellent condition, what does it matter? These toploaders are just being used to get a card/cards from destination A to destination B. If you want nice new clean toploaders, buy them brand new and use those to display your cards. Otherwise, accept that some people use sticky tape to secure the toploaders and some may wrap them in paper, ect.

Also if I open a package of cards and am frustrated with trying to open it or trying to get the sticky tape off, after a hard day of work, I just leave it and come back after I've wound down after the long day and am relaxed. When you are stressed/tired even the slightest thing could be blown out of proportion. I think the OP needs a stress ball for after work, before he opens his mail! ;)

I voted the 2nd option, whilst I don't agree with the terminology, I also don't support the first option.

These top loaders are perfect for re-trades, as many have said already. I really don't know anyone who purchases brand new shit to send out in trades, and I'd say maybe 8/10 people would only end up transferring to another holder/1-touch case anyways.

The sticky residue will come off if you really want it to, use metho and a cloth.

If you're having issues opening the top loaders, a blade (stanley knife or scalpel) will always work, which will then allow you to peel back from the opening, taking the tape off completely.

Heck I got a card in the mail that was in a toploader which had been completely covered in cloth tape, the shit that's almost impossible to peel off. It was a ruined toploader, but it was also a gift and a surprise one at that. You kinda forget all about the toploader when you see the contents.

I agree with all that you say Woobie but why not make the experience even better by wrapping the card and top loader in a piece of paper before taping, extra protection, easier to open, clean top loader for re - use and all that Jazz.

I understand that its only a top loader and it only cost .03 cents but I want to start a revolution.

:) dont mean anything people can be rude and still do that dont mean ur always joking its just like me saying stop having a sook about sticky top loaders :) i could be joking i could not be and to say "theres a few slow ones on here" is pretty mean you dont know that you dont know them and you dont know about there personal life

Yeah!! And just because someone doesn't use a single full stop in their post, doesn't mean you shouldn't take a breath while reading it out loud! :P

I think it is pretty clear from all of Dan's responses that he is taking the topic lightly! lol
while he is making his point, he isn't getting upset at all the attacks!

now, on topic..... The reason I like the first option is because I usually send cards in the same toploader I keep them in. I don't store then out of a toploader and then find a ratty one to send them in. If they were all clean when I have them, by not using tape they will still be clean when the next owner gets them!

but either way, I am not gonna lose sleep over it!

What about when someone charges $3 shipping and then posts it in a used envelope? Is that acceptable? :P

Yeah look, I see your point, and sure it'd probably make things nicer in the long run with cleaner/un-taped toploaders, but at the end of the day, they're still going to get used, and there's always going to be a use for them.

I've even gone that one bit further at times and taped an extra pair of toploaders around the one containing the card, just because I had spare ones. Tainted or otherwise.

The vote for tape on is winning.......
Yeah, but half of those votes were people comparing tape vs no tape AT ALL! The second option was meant to include an alternative to tape. Not just leaving the card loose to move around! ;)

I will post a pic in a sec, got a card that I think is in a top loader but I can't see it because its sandwiched between two pieces of card board and totally sealed with that grey PVC tape.
