WARRIORS utility Elijah Taylor is to reunite with his former coach Ivan Cleary at Penrith in the 2014 NRL season.
Warriors football general manager Dean Bell said the Auckland-based club did all they could over the past 12 months to re-sign three-Test Kiwi Taylor.
Taylor has agreed to join Penrith, who are coached by former Warriors mentor Cleary.
The 23-year-old made his NRL debut in April 2011 and has made 44 first-grade appearances, scoring six tries. He was named the Warriors' Clubman of the Year in 2012.
"While it's disappointing he's going, our recruitment and development operation is in the best shape it has ever been,'' Bell said.
"Elijah is one of many young players who have come through our system recently and there are many more to come.''
Usually a backrower, Taylor will operate at hooker in place of the injured Nathan Friend when the Warriors open their season away to Parramatta on Saturday night.

From another website, take it with a grain of salt especially Menzies bit...
Re Drug scandal

Newcastle are next
- 7 players to be suspended
- Jeremy Smith will be exposed as the player who introduced Danks to Sharks and Wayne Bennett
- Manly have 17 players still involved
- This can be linked back to 2008/2011 premierships for Manly
- Menzies was the whistle blower that spoke to Asada
- Des Hasler has been giving supplements to Manly and Canterbury players KNOWINGLY
- Sharks are just the beginning

I cant wait till they move on but i do have sympathy for the other clubs about to go through this.

Yeah it sucks for any club. Hate the way they are handling it. Guilty or not, Sharks will be associated with drug use for some time now, as will any other club who goes through this whether they ever produce evidence or not.

When it comes to such damning allegations, discretion has to be used because the mud will always stick.

Yeah the more i hear on this story the less i buy of it. I think they rushed this report out to take the focus on the rampant corruption in the NSW Labour party and they dont have the necessary evidence to proceed with anything.

Seems to me that ASADA is under massive pressure and are trying to get players to roll over. If they really had any hard evidence they would have already charged players and started handing out suspensions.

Not to say there's not something to this story but I cant see the players being pushed over on this one.

Also there will me massive pressure from various politicians (Barry O'Farrell yesterday) and powerful organizations (like the owners of nine and foxtel) that will be lobbying very hard for this to go away.

My understanding is this, feel free to correct me, x amount of players (most in the club) were taking this peptides which at the time was legal, when Danks got the boot from the Sharks, between 6-8players started visiting him at his Bankstwon office to get shots of peptides at this stage peptides had been put on the band list, so the stigma that will stick is, that the 6-8 either knew what they were doing was dodgy or just totally ignored it...

Thats my understanding to. But once again were are the postive drug tests?

How can guys be suspended just on the word of a Parramatta trainer trying to save his own ass.

They can't and won't be.

One thing is certain though. If there was a shred of hard evidence, they would not be erring on the side of leniency and offering six month suspensions to those that come forward. The NRL needs to be seen as having a zero tolerance for this sort of behaviour and if they could prove it they would be rushing to get the offenders rubbed out and rubbed out for a long while.

dont agree re NRL, they would rather turn a blind eye, sweep it under the carpet then have this out in the open...

If they could sweep it under the carpet, I agree with you. Too late for that now though.

If there is evidence then disciplinary action must be taken and handing out light suspensions sends the wrong message. My point being: I doubt there is any evidence.

Probably right, but i thought i heard they had a player taped talking on his mobile phone re peptides or is that ICAC, anyway the sooner its over the better..
Actually just suspended all the 6 clubs plus Melb/Dogs/South/Roosters and that way the Dragons might have a chance of winning the GF

The strangest thing is that ASADA have not contacted or interviewed a single player.

Its just some ex-ASADA guy that the Sharks have hired is telling the players to roll over.

Shane Flanagan stood down apparently - Buzz Rothfield twitter.

Funny how Sharkies are encouraging players to take 6 months.

And where was Reni when he got done for TWO years?!

Ban the bloody lot of them! [[Edit : what I meant is - the dirty players. Clean players and fans bloody well get stuffed again!]]
