I know James and Wade are great players, but people should know that Miami has so much depth down to about ten and Shane is one of those.
5-8 from outside, for 15 points.
The Heat were down with 7 minutes to go, now it's all over.

I don't think it is considered 'depth' when they can't win on their own! lol

if you take Lebron, Wade and Bosh out of Miami, they are a 20 win team at best!

The game is structured today that no team could survive without it's best three players.
LA is proof of how close the comp is. They have a great team that just isn't jelling and they can't win.

i dont think depth is the right word either, denver is a team with depth, knicks are a team with depth, and as for battier the game basically showed what he does, sleep behind the 3 point line and shoot

Denver, NY and the Clippers have depth. NY and LA have a little extra.

Battier is a solid defender as well.
Sure offensively he plays a role, but that's the secret to success of good teams.

Spurs have been winning regularly with their Starters missing! If you recall, they NEARLY beat Miami without Duncan, Manu, Parker and Green! ;)

Miami has a bunch of role players surrounding the big 3. I agree with Matt ^^, Knicks and Denver are 2 great examples of 'depth'!

LOL, yes they did, I'm no Spurs supporter, but I think they are the best coached team in the game today.
But they wouldn't win a 7 game series without those guys. Against OKC or LAC, no way. I think you took my statement, which applied to the average team or most teams and stuck it to the most successful team in the last ten years, possibly last 30 years.

Denver is an example of depth that will not do much until the get a go to scorer, like, KD, LBJ, KB, CA, CP or like the Spurs do, 4 guys that can do it. Some one to take over and destroy defences when the game is on the line, Denver needs that one guy.

Battier and Ray Allen would start for a lot of teams. Norris has the chance be a star once Wade goes, if he takes on what these stars are showing and doing.

Off topic, what is the best ten year win percentage of any team from the last 30 years ? I would like to know.

haha, perhaps I did! I just think Miami are one of the 'least deep' Playoff teams around, that's all!

As far as your question.... I do know an interesting stat!

Since the day that Tim Duncan joined the team, the Spurs have the best winning percentage of any team in any of the 4 major US sports.

So I would have to guess it is a Spurs record if it is post 1997. But if it is prior to, then perhaps somewhere in the Bulls, Lakers or Celtics dynasty??

Also watched his game today against the hawks, seriously, the dude has lost his range. I'd just stick with bats and hazlem, trade bosh for a more experienced PG. Bosh to the celtics???

I think Battier does provide a lot of depth off the bench. When you have Bosh/Wade/Lebron on the floor with defenders looking at ray-ray from downtown - usually Battier is the lone sharp shooter left all alone. You watch, he takes a lot of 3's uncontested due to the other stars on the court getting all the attention on D - hence he is now hitting over 40% this season.
An unheralded star of the Miami Heat.

Shane is shooting 60% from 3 pt land in the last nine games.
They won all nine games.
He is building the big four.

Now I know you are just messing with us!!

Danny Green is 43% on the season with more than 70 extra attempts than Battier, and Danny is a role player! The same as Battier is!

That's because the Spurs have a big four already, just that NBA . com doesn't want anyone to know it.
Danny would be a star with many teams.

Shane's game has lifted in the last nine games, no one can argue that. He isn't the reason they are winning, but he is helping.

Who is the fourth 'Big' on the Spurs?? lol

Kawhi Leonard will be soon, but not yet. We have a whole team of role players, that is what works!

I am in no way doubting Battier's 3pt % is a great effort over the stretch, but he is a spot up shooter that can play D, that is all!
