ESP NRL Traders 2013 Sneak Peak UPDATED WITH NEW IMAGE

I do think that's a stretch, he used a scan of a young gun for his image, it's clear what he was trying to sell
Notice how i said could have...it was a hypothetical question. I didn't check what he was selling, i merely said if he had them advertised as top prospects then he could use that as an excuse. Not saying i agree with him denying orders already placed, in my opinion he should honour any he has sold and it's his fault for being too quick off the mark and not checking ratios beforehand.

On a lighter note

if something looks too good to be true, it usually is

great if it comes off :) but when it doesn't it , then it's like backing the winner of the Melbourne Cup and getting thrown out

only on this occassion the losers [ the guys not to receive the bargain they thought they were getting, so theys guy losing out on the bargain, to save anyone reading it wrong, I am not calling you losers in the wrong sense]
should get their money back, if they already stumped up the cash that is, and if you haven't then all you can do is put it down to experience and swallow you haven't received the bargain you thought you were going to get,

appears to be only one certainty out there and that's Black Caviar

I reckon both parties seller and buyers will have learnt a lesson from this, along with the rest of us

Another way to look at it is he was selling the foils and the odds were 1:3 packs. the ratio has been revised to one per pack making them worth less. Can the buyer change their mind in this instance?

And this is exactly right. If the cards ended up selling in presale for 3 times what they were worth, I would be very surprised if he let anyone cancel the transaction because they made a "mistake".

yup

two sides to the coin

both parties thought they had it right in that they thought they may be cleaning up one party more than the other maybe

doesn't look like it as turned out that way

time to move on, nobody died, although one party may have done themselves a bit of cred damage, that's life

some you win, some you don't and some just don't happen

Its beyond me why any one would give positive feedback about the cancelled trade?!

beats me why anyone in their right mind would give anyone positive feedback prior to receiving an item in the first place, that's got to be a dumb move

can't have received an item that hasn't even been released yet or was it left after the seller had informed the buyer it's not going to happen mate sorry?

strange:whistle:

The statement in the feedback about looking forward to the discount makes mr think it was after they told them it wouldn't be happening and would get a discount in future.

right, but to leave positive feedback on something that didn't happen, what is that all about??

I have no dramas about the whole mess as indicated in my earlier posts but positive feedbacks on something that hasn't taken place!

still it takes all kinds

I would have loved to have bought a box of this - but there just looks to be zero reward for doing so. If four out of five boxes you lose half of your money it's a bad investment.

I'm not a Select fan boy but Dynasty was brilliant in that regard - plenty of value for money in 9 out of the 12 boxes in each case.

Does anyone want to have a shot at estimating a price for the Young Guns?

The closest 'Select' card you could probably compare them to is the 2011 Star sigs, mainly because they came from a 'mass produced' set and had only 3 or 4 sigs per case.

But, they were of fairly established players, which would drive the prices a bit higher, but were numbered to 600, FAR more than the 130 of these we are hearing.

The Young Guns also have a parallel with the LLB's from Dynasty, 2 per case, one per team, set of 16, so that has to be taken into consideration.

Its been said here before that the 2011 Star Sig prices are an 'anomaly' because of how difficult they are to obtain, despite being numbered to 600. The difficulty in obtaining them seems to have kept the prices between $80 - $100. It is going to be MORE difficult to obtain a Young Guns, especially your own teams Young Gun.

Discuss.

The thing with the 2011 sigs is that because they were part of the "low end" release, the likelihood of some of these cards falling into the clutches of school aged kids was reasonably high, rendering them virtually worthless. So you might trim that 600 back a bit when considering how many actually wound up with collectors or sellers. I jagged three from loose packs - didn't get a box, but did buy a boat-load of packets.
Unfortunately these Young Guns might be even harder to get since they are in the wider release. The premium sigs from Dynasty, Classic type releases never got exposed to the masses, but these ones will.

I would think these will start for $200 odd but i think will fall off.

I would say higher but lets face facts - most of them are nuffies that may not even be in he league in 3 years.

The thing countering the 'nuffie' factor is that team collectors and set collectors will chase the cards regardless....and there isn't going to be a whole lot out there to chase once you factor in the ones lost to the school playgrounds as well.

So what price do you think they will go for??

I cant see these being like the BLL that were being sold initially for around $200 and then went through the roof. The checklist and rarity of the BLL's was/is 100 times better.

Is anyone here going to aim for a full set? Or horde a certain team? :p

I will be getting 2 titans young guns regardless, so I fall into that category
