Yeah tell me about it! I would have probably paid pretty much the same as the Plate because Plates do tend to go for less than other 1/1's and the Cracked Ice look very cool. But anymore, I couldn't justify it. Especially when I am chasing after another Plate that ends in a couple days too.

I think I probably overpaid for my Burris Contenders auto now that the "hype" has eased off Contenders a little because I couldn't resist not buying it as soon as a couple were listed and it has been his only Auto (hell he only had 8 other cards prior!)

I'd say the Burris situation is abit different as like ya said - 8 cards! overpay a few dollars on each and no big deal.... Vincent Brown has over 500 cards :eek: Overpay on them and it adds up... By not overpaying on the standard stuff (even low numbered parrallell autos - really whats the diff between the #499, #99, #25, etc?) When stuff like the BGS 10 laundry tag come up I can overpay if required and enjoy it.... Ive missed quite a few pc cards because I dont want to get in a crazy bidding war and lets be honest, I'm never gonna get close to the 500 mark... I*'m approaching 200 auto's/jerseys and it's getting harder to find stuff I don't have on a regular basis... Dude's got a VBrown 1/1 white whale on ebay for $250 ono... awesome card, but stuffed if Im paying more than say $100 for it... He's had it up there for ages, good luck to him
 
Pretty happy to get a parcel from Al today, I know he's had a bit off a tough run these past few days with a bug going through his family, so some of the breaks have been put off for a couple of days..

Also, not sure if you guys caught it but he also added some more case breaks a week or so ago, I've taken a stab at the Rams in most of them, so here's hoping. Think the prices dropped yesterday as well..
 
Great, hopefully I'll get something early next week too. Saw the price drops but have managed to control myself, might treat myself to a birthday present or two next week if they drop again.
 
I saw I recevied a tracking number from Al a week or so ago so mine can't be too far away. I have been waiting to see what other case breaks Al has added but none take my interest too much. Just not enough Raider hits in these sets lately to make it worth it! If he had a case break of Tottally certified or Fleer Retro I probably would though.

Yeah that Retro is a good break candidate...expensive box !

thinking of trading giants..
 
Got my mail from Al yesterday. Not much to it other than my Streater Contenders Playoff Ticket Auto /99. The rest was a bunch of base - at least my son had great fun picking out all the cards he wanted from the base!

They look like quite nice cards, but not enough Raiders for me to take a gamble on these. I do like that Al has been doing more case breaks lately. Was hoping he would have done a Totally Certified case break.

They are pretty nice. Cool looking Warner auto on ebay at the moment.

Yeah, I was looking for a Totally cert case also, but not yet it appears...I picked up the Rams in Valor as the price was very decent at $23... some guy on ebay is selling a case share for $60! Crazy 8 had a few multi box breaks over the weekend, but unfortunately I missed them

Only problem is the case shares take such a long time to fill... I might be waiting a while ! :-(
 
Cards don't look too bad, but pretty exxy at $175 odd bucks a box (pack!) for only 4 hits I think... Momentum, Black, Absolute seem better value.

I was tempted to go a box, but got the yips when it came to pulling the trigger...hopefully the case/box shares I bought will deliver some nice hits for a fraction of the cost...
 
I will probably pick up a couple of the cards of ebay maybe, but as Trevor said, what you get for the money just is not worth it. These sort of "hits" can be picked up pretty cheap and don't tend to sell for much more than similar hits from a box of Contenders for example.
 
Yeah, unless you hit a really nice veteran or star rookie, you're gonna lose...and with that price, lose big time...
 
I look at it like this: An Andrew Luck Valour auto/50 is currently on ebay for BIN of $278. This on a $175 a box product is pretty cheap really. Compare that to a Luck Contenders Auto /550 which is currently at $328 with 14 hours to go - from a cheaper product that nets you nearly double the hits!
