A1 card and gaming mystery pack!!!!!!!

I actually really like the idea done properly. $140 is a fair whack though. Their should be more packs and they should be say $25, that way, you don't hurt so bad if you lose out.
Say 50 packs at $25 = $1250. You could have a lot of different suff in there. Or even 100 packs.
Jordan autos suck up a bit of juice. Maybe a couple of Kobes and Lebron, I'm sure a K.G would'nt hurt. Hell there's some pretty sweet cards around for under $20, 90's inserts of anybody other than Jordan and Kobe.
Things like this I'd love to see run by the admin as it keeps things moving a bit. I'm not going to spend $100 on a box these days, but I would spend $25 on a mystey pack for a bit of fun. Obviously admin don't have spare time to be doing stuff like this.

So probably 20 packs @ $140 each = $2800, not bad for probably about $1000 sell value on ebay, cannot stress enough to stay away from these, 1 big hit over 20 packs is not good odds, for that money you could get a case of Exquisite and be guaranteed a JORDAN or LEBRON AUTO. Now you know that these are dodgy next time post up a thread and ask questions BEFORE buying, I am sure if you had of done that you would NOT have paid your $ out on this, I am pretty sure these packs have been on A1's site for over 6 mths, and this is the second lot of these he has done, so not many RETURN buyers after 1st lot he did as I think buyers of the first lot became pissed at their "HITS" last time.

I think he already stated there was only 9 packs and he got the worst.
He had an ok chance at some decent cards and goes in to the draw for an M.J auto. Not awful.
But like any box, still pretty risky.
I'm a 90's guy though where I used to collect the base and inserts. It's not done all that often now.
I'd only buy a box now if I really liked the base set and would be after an insert/auto/patch series out of the set.
I'm hoping Fleer come back and bring E-X with it. I'd also like to see a Flair Showcase again.

The point Rob is making is that there always going to be more unhappy than happy AND the fact that the packs are SELF made leaves the opportunity for people to take advantage of the buyers by placing what-ever they like in there (except the advertised cards). These pack shares have always caused controversy which is why they are banned.........I certainly agree with the Mods on this one.
Just a thought: Are mystery packs shipped out before all are being sold or shipped out immediately when purchased?

The point Benny is making is that it isn't a whole lot different to the collation of 'official' boxes. You get some good boxes and some poor boxes for similar money. In fact, you pay $130 for a box these days that don't even have ANY chance of an MJ or Lebron!

Agreed personally think that these packs are ok if done right. Smaller profit margin and some good hits will always see people happy. I have done mystery packs on my page for $8-20 and everyone but one person was very happy with their hits. You have to understand A1 has to make money out of it somehow too. Like Adam said you can bust boxes all day long with no kobe/lebron auto its the risk YOU take.
YOU would have been happy if you pulled the Quad or LeBron.
I have read bits and pieces of this thread and from my understanding you purchased one of these mystery packs to a) get one of the hits and b) go into the draw to win a Michael Jordan auto.
You rolled the dice and you lost on the pack hits. That is why they are called mystery packs, the mystery is in what will you receive, will it be good or will it be bad. You spent $130 and got 9 game used card, ok not the best cards, but if you spent the same money on a box of certified you get 3 game used and 3 autos and no guarantee those will be of any valuer or even of someone who will still be playing the next week

There is still a chance of winning the Jordan auto.
Now i am not supporting these mystery packs as i don't believe in them but where can you buy a box and still have a chance after that to go in the draw to win a Jordan auto.
