Another eBay loser !!!

I am sure some of you have dealt with this guy but hear me out and make your own judgement, his username is rarecollectibles00001 and he already has 45 NEGATIVE Feedbacks of a very similar kind.

I bought an item of him with a BIN, I asked a few questions about payment & postage - No problems, paid with PayPal and asked if he could confirm payment and let me know when the item would be sent. This is what I wrote:
Hi Steve - Please LMK when you get the payment through and when you will sent my item

The next day, NO - Response, now PayPal is instant so I thought I would politely ask him again, this is what I wrote:
Hi - Instant payment has now been made for this item (although I have not heard back from you to confirm it yet) so do you think you will be able to get it into the mail for me this week ?

Now guess what happened the next day - No response ! Now at this point I will add that all e-mails were sent through the eBay "Contact Member" so I thought I would test to see if he was getting them by asking a question about a separate item the next day (3rd day since payment). Guess what - He replied !!! So I wrote him and e-mail asking why he could respond to that question but not to my question about payment confirmation and postage date ?

Guess what - No response so we are now into Day 4 after payment, I ask a friend to ask him a question about one of his items......guess what happens - Yup he responded !

To cut a longish story short I sent him another e-mail on the 5th day (today)and requested his contact information of eBay so I could ring him......it turns out he had listed a fake number and non full address so I warned him to reply to my e-mails or I would report his lack of communication and fake registration information......NOTHING - All he does his refund my PayPal money and writes this on PayPal:
I cannot live up to buyer's expectations.I will just cancel his order instead.
And then tries to get a listing refund by writing this:
Unable to follow up on some emails(anti virus software probs???) & now cannot get item sent in time
for christmas.I think we should just forget the whole thing.Sorry........Steve

Needless to say I did not accept the auction cancellation because my messages were sent through eBay (e-mail problems was a lie) and he had been responding to other e-mails not related to my auction.

I know I send him a few e-mails but how hard would it be to respond to ONE of them - Even if it was just to say, Payment received will post ASAP !!! Am I being to Harsh here guys ???

I couldn't undersatnd why after 5 days and 5 e-mails he wouldn't respond !
I mean it took him longer to cancel the payment them simply reply to one of my e-mail :

I agree it's not hard for him to let you know whats going on. But I suppose with the feedback he has what more can you expect.

I have now Scott (Thanks for the reply BTW), Luckily it was only with my eBay "Buying ID" - This is exactly why I decided to have 2 ID's - So that bad buys like this one won't impact on my selling ID when I cop retalliation feedback !

Incidently this is the sort of Negative feedback he has:

Needs to be alittle friendler with his customers
Product - fine. Unpleasan seller to deal with AND EXPENSIVE - he's off my list!
Cashed my payment then wouldnt send goods unless i paid extra $$ ..... BEWARE !!

Well, I used to have a seller from US took me one month to send out the cards... it's kind of unethical on eBay as they received the money and didn't send out the cards.. the problem is he's had like 3 negative feedbacks and alot of neutrals feedbacks.. so, i just waited patiently and emailed him about 4 times in 4 weeks... finally it arrived home.. LOL.. but after 2 months, no feedback is left for me yet.. and now, he's 3rd person to do the same thing to me in last 6 months..

Plus, I saw some of the members have bought cards from him and saw good feedbacks, so i just tried to be patient.. actually, seller should post positive feedback once they receive the money, because money is what they seek and products is what buyer seek on eBay.. they just didn't want negative feedback and always keep the feedbacks for possible/prospective retaliations.. half of the sellers will leave you feedback rightaway because they believe themselves as a decent dealer on ebay..IMHO, eBay is not really a good place to hang out... of course, there are many people on ebay, but quantity never brings quality..

the thing is, if i happen to see them again, whatever they offer, how good the card is, i will just ignore them for the rest of my life.. i don't mind losing money, or waiting patiently, they just take the fall by themselves anyway..

Most sellers only leave positive feedback AFTER you have left it for them nowdays dude.......mainly so they can't receive a negative and not retaliate !

The eBay feedback system really is a big joke. It doesn't really mean all that much to be honest, as it can be bolstered by selling cheap crap to get a great number, and since it is so hard to search through for negative responses it makes it very difficult to use.

Sellers should definately have to return feedback within a certain amount of time after payment has been received, then take whatever feedback is given for the service they provide (ie. delivery of goods in timely manner and in as described condition).

i agree.. that's why i wrote half of the eBayers...
I am waiting 3-4 feedback from sellers in last 6 months alone, they don't bother to leave feedback since i already gave them positive feedback, different positive writing on each item...(showing the token of appreciation from my side)..

some sellers will leave you feedback after you leave them. the funny thing is, in eBay we don't even have notification of who left the feedback.. so it's hard to know...

And Sellers are not supposed to leave feedback when they receive the items.. it's not wrong, but shows lack of confidence and creditability, as i said, buyers seek money and sellers seek product or service.. when buyer satisfy their need, their part of deal is done which will create a feedback to those who pay...

anyway, i tried to leave feedback as soon as i receive the payment, turns out the feedback is pretty good... just my thoughts on this.. for me, if the seller is not reliable, next time, i just leave no matter how good the product is, coz eBay for me is to get some cards.. I don't really buy stuff from eBay as it's more expensive..
