I've seen loads of redemption cards, especially from panini. Do you just enter the code and they send you the card? Do you have to pay for postage?

That is pretty much the deal.

For Panini, just need to register with their redemption service, enter in the code you have and hopefully the card will be made.

Don't have to pay postage as well, all paid for at their end.

To redeem a Panini card head to http://paniniamerica.net/CustServ/ create an account and then redeem your card via the redemption system. Quite a lot of the time it is not cards not being made as erroneously pointed out above that delays them getting to you but in fact players and their agents being Lax in returning the cards to Panini.

If the card isn't made what happens, do you have to wait
Happens very very rarely. They print the whole lot beforehand so the only time you really have to wait is if something spectacular has happened of if it is a special card like the full 24k ones

You log on enter the code, choose 4 or 8 months, after 12 months of hearing nothing you request replacement, 2 months later they reply saying they are still waiting for that player to sign would you like a replacement, you say yes thats what i asked for months ago, you wait another 6 months and they send you a card you pretty much have no interest in... Basically how it works

im fairly impressed with my experience so far, i entered the code on 16/8, and they closed it on 5/10 and its currently in transit to me... less than 2 months to whack a sticker auto on a card aint so bad ;)

I'm currently on my second Panini redemption.

The first one took 3 weeks from request to receiving it.

This one has now taken a month and it hasn't moved.

Which I don't get because the card exists. There are people selling the actual card on eBay.

I filled in a followup response a week ago, and still nothing, so I'll probably just email the CSM now.

Sorry to correct you Brent, but Josh was asking how the Panini's redemption system works, not Upper Deck.

I already have 4 Limited redemptions back, they were all redeemed approximately 8 weeks ago and they arrived within 7 weeks. Maybe its your way with words when it comes to the update request perhaps??

Thanks to everyone for the advice! It's been a lot of help and in the future I will at least know what to do with redemption

well if you want to get technical, he didnt actually ask how paninis redemption system worked, he just asked how redemptions in general work, hes just seen loads of "panini" redemptions (surprise, surprise). I didnt actually name any company as its not really relevant to the question but no, it wasnt upper deck. Congratulations on recieveing your redemptions so fast, you must be happy you had to go through that process instead of the cards being in the box's. And as for my way of words, it was quiet simple really, just a " Hi, can i please request a replacement, thankyou" i suppose that could be taken the wrong way.

Ummm Brent, the initial question specifically says "especially from Panini", so if your going to get technical then you better read the details again, but it did still have a slightly general nature to the question, so I will give you the technicality, its just that when I read your post, all I thought of was my experiences with Upper Deck redemptions, so I just jumped to the conclusion that you were talking about Upper Deck. After all, out of all the redemptions I had with Upper Deck, admittedly not a huge sample number, but half were replaced with a non-redeemed card, without offer to wait first. And then when I pulled my first Panini redemption I automatically feared the worst. But low and behold, 3 years later and I am yet to fail to receive a single card that I redeemed (touch wood, hope I havent jinxed myself now lol), and the longest I have had to wait was 9 months.

Now redemptions are obviously not ideal, and I dont like them any more than the next guy, of course I would like to get every auto in hand, but I know that isnt going to happen, but mainly I dont like guys who reply to a question with a most negative response as if this was the way it was for everyone. If that is your experience, fair enough, but I cant help but think sometimes that, just as it is in normal everyday life, the negatives are always exaggerated, while positives, or at the very least, when expectations are met, they are downplayed or ignored completely.

Come on guys let's not angry over the situation

Cheers Josh, clearly one person is more angry/bitter than the other, but anyways, did you have any redemptions yourself, or was it purely a generic question?
