I don't agree with others saying that the lockout takes away from it.... It could almost add to how good his season was.

Less games, yes, but more games closer together and a heavier workload over a smaller amount of time makes what LBJ has done this season/year even more impressive IMO... And most people know Im not exactly a LBJ lover! hahahaha!

Don't get me wrong, it isn't my opinion that the lockout SHOULD take away from it, I was merely pointing out that in all future stat sheets, the * will give people a 'but' when they compare seasons!

I am an advocate for the Lockout seasons being counted as normal, the Spurs did win their first ring in '99 after all!

i think it was a pretty amazing season and believe he has finally come of age, wow 16 GAMES shorter this year, big deal, remember they were all bunched up probably making it more tiring!...as for the olympics, as far as im concerned lebron and durant played better than anyone on a consistent basis, they all contributed i know, but those two stood out, plus melos thirty seven in fourteen mins was pretty outstanding...

I certainly don't think Lebron "won" gold, they had a team full of guns and it would've been a shock if they had've lost.

In saying that, Lebrons season is up there. Jordans stats were pretty impressive in 92. I think he averaged 41ppg in the finals. Now that is dominating.

Larry Bird has done similar. 27.5, 11reb, 5.9 assists in the 84 playoffs. 26/9/8 in 86
Magic IN HIS ROOKIE YEAR 18/10/9 He had similar stats like this in alot of playoffs and finals.
So, I do think Lebrons is 100% up there. Amazing season.
But I don't think it's just him and Jordan at the top now.

geez i dont know mate, Kobe has been pick at, hated and talked about for alot long than LBJ has. Alot of the talk and dislike for LeBron has only become because of his choice to leave the Cavs. Either way anyone at the top of the heap will always be hated and picked at its just the tall poppy syndrome yet again.

I'm no Lebron fan but you can't take away what he did even though it was a shortened season, same for everybody!! And IMO stats can be overrated, 95% of nba players will get you the numbers. The great ones do it when it counts.

The thing is that this thread was created only after the Gold Medal, so naturally, that is the focal point of the thread.

When the Olympics are only every 4 years, it is hardly fair to us that as a stat to compare the 'best seasons'. That is all that was said! Most of the responses in here are fair and legitimate imo, so I fail to see why it should become a 'LBJ hater' discussion. again!

My issue is with the reaction from the LBJ fans. To carry on any time anything that isn't a 'hallelujah LBJ' quote is made!

In sports, people will not always like the same people you do! Get over it! As a Spurs NUT, I get sick of hearing that the Spurs are 'boring', but who cares?? That is an opinion and they are allowed to have it!

All I was saying is that it certainly was no 1 man show at the Olympics. Durant carried team USA at the World Champs a couple years back was it? He was ridiculous, that was amazing. It was'nt like Lebron chucked team USA on his back, that's all. I'd say they would've won without him.

Lebron is the best player in the game. He has been IMO for probably 4-5 years.

Read the rest of my post. Pretty much all facts. Like I said Lebron's season is definitely up there. Always hard to pick the best. I have no doubt there's more to come.
