What an amazing season.

While it was possibly the best season heard of, it will never count as the best ever, purely because of the lockout shortened season!

Pretty amazing. Think they said the only other player to win a MVP, Championship & a Gold Medal all in the one year was the GOAT.

great season, but like its been mentioned, it was done in a shortened season.
not a hater. mad props to LJ for an amazing year. not his fault. his numbers are a little higher than MJs were for that season, so its still debatable i guess...

Awesome season....

I don't agree with others saying that the lockout takes away from it.... It could almost add to how good his season was.

Less games, yes, but more games closer together and a heavier workload over a smaller amount of time makes what LBJ has done this season/year even more impressive IMO... And most people know Im not exactly a LBJ lover! hahahaha!

Hahaha... Good decision for me to read your post. For once!!! LOL!

Everyone's different in their opinions about the shortened season but to be honest, I don't know if any player can do what Lebron achieved in less than 8 months...

You can add the triple double in the Olympics as mentioned above and the triple double in the championship clinching game to the list below.
1. NBA Championship
2. NBA MVP
3. NBA Finals MVP
4. Olympic gold medallist
5. NBA Allstar

Did Magic or Bird not do it at some point?

'92 was the first time nba players played for the USA, so no one couldve done it before then and since the bulls won the championship in 92, only pippen or MJ couldve done it, and pippen was way off...
personally i dont think the gold medal is really the big deal. you could take that away from the list and it would still be an extremely short list. and since no one pre-92 couldve done everything on the list its not that great a yard stick to go by...

James Joins Jordan on History List

August 13, 2012

LeBron (James) signed off with 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists and exchanged long, tight hugs with both (Mike) Krzyzewski and (Kevin) Durant before the final horn had even blown. Shortly thereafter, Coach K made an even bigger scene by jumping up and down on the medal stand.
“It’s been a great ride for me,” James said upon joining Michael Jordan on the short list of players to win a gold medal, an NBA championship and the MVP trophy in the same season.
“I could have never scripted it this way. A lot of people doubted us. They said we were too small. Like Chris (Paul) said, it’s not about size, it’s about heart. And I’m happy we have so much heart on our team.”
via Marc Stein of ESPN

I certainly don't think Lebron "won" gold, they had a team full of guns and it would've been a shock if they had've lost.

In saying that, Lebrons season is up there. Jordans stats were pretty impressive in 92. I think he averaged 41ppg in the finals. Now that is dominating.

Larry Bird has done similar. 27.5, 11reb, 5.9 assists in the 84 playoffs. 26/9/8 in 86
Magic IN HIS ROOKIE YEAR:) 18/10/9 He had similar stats like this in alot of playoffs and finals.

So, I do think Lebrons is 100% up there. Amazing season.
But I don't think it's just him and Jordan at the top now.

Seriously... this is what it has come to?? WOW. Have seen the whole 'Heat are stacked' comments but never thought I would see "Team USA are stacked". Lebron could have put up 30 a game and it would have then been that on a team full of stars he ball hogged. Come on.

lebron haters are always going to hate no matter what he does!!!! he could go on and win a dozen championships and people would still nit pick...not that he would win that many, but you know what i mean!...
i think it was a pretty amazing season and believe he has finally come of age, wow 16 GAMES shorter this year, big deal, remember they were all bunched up probably making it more tiring!...as for the olympics, as far as im concerned lebron and durant played better than anyone on a consistent basis, they all contributed i know, but those two stood out, plus melos thirty seven in fourteen mins was pretty outstanding...
