If you owned "Select" would you keep the Cards Numbered #1

I wouldn't keep the #1 card if I was a card company, for the simple reason that if you state to your customers that there is a print run of 50, 100, 250 etc, the customer could rightfully assume that it means that ALL of that print run was available. Otherwise, where could it end? For example, would you keep a #23 Michael Jordan card, or a #33 Larry Bird if you were Upper Deck or Panini? I'd have thought that it was basic common sense - if either in packs or by redemption a collector obtains a #1 card, it would be a great promotion for the company.

im in total aggreance with all the people that think that select would be breaking some kind of law by not releasing all of the so called print run. whatever is printed on the box/packet is what should be available to buyers. cmon , really, can they do that???????

• Mat Wilson because you keep the number 1 card of all redemptions does that mean there is one less inserted in packs eg. 200 numered redemptions but only numbers 2-200 inserted in packs meaning only 199 available to collectors

I think there is a fuss about nothing going on here... My guess is the owner of select is a collector... Otherwise why else would you start a collecting company???

The fact is... You are a collector... Not the owner... And the owner in this situation is keeping the number #1's...

They have never said "there are 100 available".... They have said "100 numbered cards"...

Select doesn't owes us ANYTHING..

The excitement of a 002 is as exciting as a 001 will ever be... With the knowledge that the best we're gonna get is 002.......... The excitement is HUGE when you pull one... It's not going to magically be even better because it's number 001...

I'd be pissed... But the packets do say odds reflect the entire production run... So I'd deal with it... And in the end... It's my money.. So the only person it should annoy is me.. I wouldn't stand back and think...... If only the number #1's were in there I'd would have gotten one..

I voted yes but on second thought I actually think no. Half the fun of collecting cards is opening the packets and looking for those special cards with low numbers and the thrill of opening a number 1 would be a massive high that select has stolen from there buyers.

Some of us think it's ok and some of us think it's not ok for a company to withhold cards form a release that they want us to collect, but for whatever reason I think this should not happed.

Ok, so they withhold the number one's, now just for the LLB's there are 16 cards out there less for someone get, if I bought 16 cases hunting for these cards and paid full price of $37,440 and did not get one LLB, I would be a bit upset.

Leagally this is unfair trading, as on the boxes it clearly says 16 LLB's to collect from each team and only 50 individually numbered cards produced, it dose not say that Select will or could take any numbers out of the collection because they feel like it.

Again here is a can of worms, it all depends now who wants to open it, that can of worms could cost a lot more than 480 cases of Dynasty for Select.
Look I love Select's NRL Trading Cards, but I do not like to see people getting riped off for their hard earned money.

My theory Is why couldn't select just keep all the highest numbers then e.g 50/50 150/150 200/200

That way collectors have a chance at the #1s

APCS- Keep all the No1s & last No of the run. Also Select don't keep the Jersey No they Release them.
I'm sure most card producers keep No1 in their museum or private Stock.
I don't know why everyone is worried about it. Grant puts up big money to produce his products & takes all the risks!!
