2012 show Triple signature pic

You need to read my post again a bit slower so you understand what I'm saying Because obviouslly you read what you want to interprate & always put words in everyones mouths . I just stated some FACTS & gave my opinion.I'm not whinging like you do in every post you do you must be a very negative person who needs to get a life. This forum is for everyone to use & talk about hobby they like & if you rejoice in me not buying something then good luck to you & have a happy life.:goat:

The first part of my post "Dr" was an honest observation and the second part was a compliment. Also it is known that i am not a negative person but i will call it as i see it and to me, Select has been stale since 2005 thus my lack of praise on a card collecting forum.

Now that is out of the way, Your constant "pro-Select" stance is so transparent. You are obviously just trying (in vein i might add) to protect your investment. After ESP flood the market with mid level cards and make extremely limited high end cards you will be lucky to get back half of what you paid for your Select pc.

You really dont have a clue and as a collector and you prove that class has nothing to do with money.

That's fine. How & why we each collect is a personal choice that's the beauty about collecting we each do it to suit our financial means & wants.
You can collect a player or a team or a series or a manufacturer or all cards ever made it dosen't matter it's a HOBBY there is no set rules who is right or who is wrong. The main thing is you love it with a passion & it's a way to relax & unwind from the problems & stress of every day life.:D

I was replying to the bit saying that true collectors worry about price and value.

I might have a curiosity value look at what the cards I own sell for on eBay, but really, I couldn't care less. I don't expect them to hold value as the players disappear from the limelight and the industry evolves.

Hahaha talking down to whingers after a long post full of whinging.
I think people who plan on collecting ESP would be rejoicing at the fact that you dont seem keen.

If that comment was a complement then I'd hate to see a negative or sarcastic comment!!!!:worthy:
As for Select I do like their 2nd series products & have no problem collecting it. As for your comment - Select has been stale since 2005. You obviously have no idea & show you don't have a clue in collecting cards as the 2008 Centenaury release is one of their best & will continue to grow in value. Selects 2012 champions also was a great release & their upcoming Dynasty release will be one of their best.
As for ESP their track record of DUMPING stock & bailing out when they get it wrong will haunt them for years to come. You may hate select & you put Sh!t on them whenever you can, but they never devalue their product by dumping it.
ESP have 5 years let's see if they last that long & what type of product they put out. So far no new ideas. All stars a copy of Select, Jersey cards might as well of cut up a rag & put it in a card & value for money their September release leaves a lot collectors wondering if they have any idea what collectors want???? I bet if Select offered what ESP are going to release you would be putting sh!t on them as you always do.:red:

As for class & money you obviously have a chip on your shoulder & are a very BITTER person as what I do & collect is no business of yours & obviously your obsessed with what I do & you watch & follow what I do as it must get up your nose. You need to get a life & not worry about what other people do.:red::red::red:

Another thread that should have a "bring popcorn" warning...............

Again a very entertaining read.

A true collector has to worry about price & value otherwise how do you complete your PC & sets with over priced cards & expect to trade over valued cards. I can't speak for all but I always try & complete my Master Sets for the lowest of $$$ possible. If we weren't mindful of what we spend on our collection we would stuggle to complet our sets. We all have limited funds for our Hobby it's not an open cheque book I'm sure. Also I'm sure no one on here want a PC that was worth half of what they paid, we all hope to make a profit if ever we had to sell some of it or all of it.

Personally I believe that you can't truly be a hobbyest at a profit and I would argue that everyone's PC's will be worth considerably less than what we pay for them, yes the odd card may turn a profit but that money goes back in.....unless your like Dave P and get the case hit with every box you open.:D

My case in point as you mention the 2008 Centenary release, when first released Immortal sketch cards were fetching easily over $50 and now you can often pick them up for $40 or under....more than a 20% reduction.

Cheers

I find it odd so many people (not just George) are upset about these ESP jersey cards not being game worn.

The vast majority of rep jerseys are donated or auctioned to charity.

I think the money is better off in the hands of charities that will use it for worthwhile causes rather in the hands of greedy collectors (and that's a generalization - no insult intended for anyone on OCT).

Yeah ^^^ I think getting a rep jersey game worn would be near impossible. I hope they continue with the idea and look at getting some game worn club jerseys. Hopefully this is just a tease at what is to come.

Ross

why dont they bid on them? win win we get the game worn the charities get the dosh ? im pretty sure the penrith jerseys that went the other week werent to expensive. hell i hope they weren't with poor Bevin splashing his $$$ out at a spastic like coote

I guess the problem is that you need to have fixed costs with these things. If ESP and Bevan got into a pissing match in the auction for the Coote jersey and ended up paying more for it than they can make back then that's going to be pretty bad for business.

Like Ross said - hopefully its an example of whats to come from ESP.

Nice comeback 3 days later George, Wasnt even worthy of a reply.

if you must know Justin I hadn't been on the site for 3 day as I had internet problems

The only thing I would suggest ESP do is to do a deal with the clubs (or league) directly like what the manufacturers do with the NBA/NFL etc.

You do a deal where the team orders a extra set of jerseys for a fee from their manufacturer, the players wear them in a game (even a half a game) and hey presto ESP have their game used pieces for the next year or 2 years worth of releases.

It wouldnt be that hard!

Or expensive.
