But they just offered him 4-years $42mill which Portland can't match due to luxury tax issues

They really need to f**k unrestricted FA right off. I'm sick to death of teams like Houston pretty much "shill" bidding on players and forcing teams to sign players on insanely back ended contracts. Either be under contract or a fully Free Agent. It sucks that teams can make insane offer sheets knowing full well that the team will match and mess up there cap in years to come.
