Official 2012-13 Offseason thread - trades, rumours, etc

Well if he wanted the championship more, he would've signed with the Lakers already! I have to say, at least Lebron didn't string it out like this!

Lebron played out his contract there without the off court dramas. Never demanded a trade and yet he still gets all that hate even before his televised "Decision".

On the other hand, I feel that Dwight will be hated more than Lebron. Demanded a trade then asked for his coach to get fired and opt-in to his contract. The coach is now gone along with Otis... Now wants to be traded and basically made it clear to the whole league that he will not sign an extension unless he gets traded to the Nets! Yes I'm very irritated now.

To be honest though, no one really had an inkling that Lebron was going to leave. They had the best record, needed a couple more pieces to get over the line.

It was really a shock to alot of people.

Every one knows Dwight wants to leave. It's just been going on for sooooooo long now.

I agree, Dwight might see alot of backlash. But I don't think it will upset him as much as it did Lebron. I think Dwight will laugh it off. Probably because he seems to think only of himself.

The only problem is that Cleveland can't get someone like Wade or Bosh and convince them that Cleveland is a good place to be. He stayed there for 7 years and help them contend every year. Lebron just gets tired too much in the end... Thats just my opinion.

We'll see what happens to Dwight next season. I do hope that he will be just fine coz I believe that he is the best true center in the league at the moment.

Well it did'nt really look like they needed those guys. 66 wins says alot. Sure they could'nt get through the Celtics that year but who's to say they would'nt have the next year???

Like I said, they really only needed a couple more pieces.

Please don't make me bring out the dreaded B word:whistle:

Ha ha:)

The B word is Bailed!!!

I was watching the Bulls vs Lakers finals game 5 from 1991 yesterday and it reminded me how awesome it was that that was the Bulls first ever NBA championship.

Jordan after 7 years of losing never caved and went elsewhere.
Ok, thats more like it. hehehe

Actually, might I add, how the hell have the Heat managed to get ALOT better in this off season. I mean, scoring Ray and Lewis. I know Lewis may not give them too much but I reckon he'll still be handy.

It's starting to remind me of the Lakers 3 peat when guys were signing up for a ring all over the place.

00 Ron Harper and Glen Rice
01 Horace Grant and Isiah Rider
02 Mitch Richmond

Yikes!!!!

You didn't mention how Scottie Pippen helped MJ. Someone in this forum will be upset for not mentioning his idol!!!

more on Lin

On the Jeremy Lin front, I'm told as of minutes ago that the Knicks - who added Raymond Felton to their point guard mix last night - have still not informed the restricted free agent point guard on whether or not they'll match Houston's three-year, $25.1 million offer sheet. On the other side, it's certainly worth noting that Felton's camp - while not knowing the Knicks' decision with total certainty - is under the impression that New York is not likely to match. New York has until 11:59.59 on Tuesday night to decide. Sulia

On Sportcenter they were saying no chance of Knicks matching the offer. The 3rd year of the deal would cost them 30mil because of the tax. They are peeved that Houston upped their offer from the original amount and also angry that Lin signed. They thought he should've shown them some more respect for giving him a chance. Apparently it's gotten to Lins head a bit and the Knicks are not happy.

They obviously don't need Lin now but it is a shame to see him go.

You could really argue both sides to this quite easily.
