2012 NRL DYNASTY SELLER DISCUSSION

so does that mean there will be no opportunity to buy boxes here on ozct at all ever again

No that's isn't correct. Some members used to run case shares where you would nominate which box you wanted from the case in the group buy. Case shares are no longer available so the authorised resellers of the product will be identified and will make boxes available for a series. The only real difference is that the seller in this case Warren, will open the two sealed cases and pick whatever boxes are in whatever position to send to the purchaser. Also there is no debate about the case card as that belongs to the reseller.

You will find that most if not all of the authorised resellers of the 2012 series 2 will have to cap how much product they can allocate to box sales since this release is expected to sell out prior to its actual release day.

I hope that helps.

i wouldnt mind a case myself where do i send the money

I think you will be very fortunate to find one of the small business who will be able to make cases available for sale. To make a complete set of this product one would have to open 8 cases of 2012 Series 2 just to make up the League Leader Black 16 card set and that is assuming you get no doubles.

Dave, the distributor for Select products caps the amount of product you can buy wholesale, of the 400 cases available I (if I was a small business reseller) might only get allocated 8 - 10 cases. The dollars are not in box or case sales so I would have to limit what I could sell that way in order to have sufficient stock to open to make sets for my small customer base.

A larger business (whether shopfront, eBay or on-line) who turns over a lot more dollars might get allocated 20 cases or more. How much stock is available for bulk sales would depend on the interest shown in the release. For instance, 2009 Classic sold out prior to its release date because of the cards on offer in the release and I think this one will also. 2011 Strike did not have as much interest as this release and you can still buy cases even now, from memory redtorana advertised one recently he still had in stock.

For any of the resellers on OCT, if I have made any incorrect comments, pls feel free to correct.

Thanks so much dave now i have a better understanding Also what happens if the 400 cases sellout straight up, does that mean everyone else doesnt have a chance of completing their collections ????? Would they realease anymore at all ???? Its just that I dont want to have to spend thousands of dollars buying packets from Newsagents ?????Please somebody sell me some boxes atleast ?????

Keep an eye on the sale threads and I am sure another reseller will open up some spots for box sales. As far as releasing more, Select won't do that, Dynamic did back in the bad old days of collecting but with Select, 400 cases and that's it. To complete collections you and I, along with many other collectors will be going to our local resellers, eBay, Cardzone or one of the few smaller card shops to buy those singles needed to complete our collections

So I gather you have Newsagents in Taree that stock Series 2? We only have one locally who does that, fortunately he is close so I can always pick up a few packets here an there.....lol

ill take 2 please. also not being a smart ass or anything. but isnt this like the same as a case share pretty much or am i just completely lost?

I think your just lost girds..........but this is how I see it.......Yes Ming did case shares but I don't think he was a business with a wholesale license to buy the product. He got the cases at a good price yes and then sold them in the case share to make a profit for himself (Pls correct me if I am wrong and I must say I am in no way Ming bashing).

For the trading card industry to remain viable we have to support the small business man with our business, hence the 'shares' for want of a better term are now coming from a business, such as Footyfunaddicts who is selling boxes with very little profit to support us the members and hopefully we will go back and support that small business with follow on sales in order to complete our sets.

I don't personally care which of the members on OCT who have a business AND a wholesale licence provides the stock for the shares I just personally like the idea of supporting a business that is run by a member who is trying to just put food on the table and pay the bills. THAT is the big difference for me.

As you would have seen I have tried to get the other sellers to get stock up for box sales with no luck..............I don't know why they won't support their customers.

So.........those members on OCT who are a card business AND who have a wholesale licence, step up and support your customers or bugger off. Harsh I know, but I am passionate about supporting local business.

Dave

yeah i wasnt looking at the big picture... all i was seeing is that we were all still a chance of the redemption

thanks heaps for the fast response Lazlow :) Looking at footycards.com.au now :)

Cheers Shell :)

I personally spoke to the staff at footy cards and pleaded with them allocate stock (cases) for OCT members to buy. I outlined the basis of our hobby is to buy as a group and to watch the group breaks to see who gets the case hit but footy cards did not seem comfortable with that.

So I sat down and asked myself why would a business pre-sell stock on their website that is just above wholesale price and only encourage people to buy there instead of making a case available for members to buy and I can only think of one reason...........most of you will know what that reason is.............;)

i think that reason is absolutely spot on.

I know Dave Skol (the owner) very well.

His reputation in the industry is impeccable and if you are thinking searched boxes you need to withdraw that statement immediately.

Dave looks after his customers better than most and does not search boxes. If he does not want to get involved selling off the OCT website that his business.

Just 2 weeks ago you were defending cardzone and calling people out for complaing of their prices and for the way in which JHL controls wholesale distribution.

I think the point was that you want to jump on members in here and defend Cardzone but you seem to have no problems making a damaging accusation against footycards.

Im not trying to get into another raging argument with you Dave but just like me, as a more senior member of OCT, you need to be more responsible with your posts especially when it can have a major effect on someones business.

If someone came in here accusing Warren of searching what would you say?

Dave from Footycards obviously has his reasons for not wanting to sell on here, but to flat out say that he milks his boxes is going a bit far and an accusation you can't make unless you actually have proof.

If there was a slight chance he would sell here before, he sure as hell won't now.

You guys really need to think before typing any sort of crap here. The damage that it does can have long lasting effects. I'm not only talking about sellers, im talking about manufacturers also.

Ming's Case Shares were awesome, im pretty sure he was selling them at cost prices, i doubt he made a profit at all, just the time to go through the process of picking up case, opening, sorting out, packaging and sending out takes time and some money, so he provided a great service to this site..
Hopefully he is back, the more people involved (GOOD people) the better...

I understand your point, I made no accusation merely an observation. The same observation that many people have made on OCT about local sellers here on OCT and also eBay. Perception is a powerful thing and I have edited my original post.
