Official 2012-13 Offseason thread - trades, rumours, etc

Really though, who in there right mind would want to go from living in LA to living in Cleveland. I'm sure a team in a better city would offer him something.

I was surprised at all 3 destinations really. But hey, something different. I'd like to see him at Cleveland. They'd be looking pretty solid for the playoffs then.

Someone please tell me why the lakers dont amnesty clause Artest is is useless

You're probably spot on. I think they should still keep him over amnesty. Not sure they's get anything in a trade. He needs to be in better shape for next season and keep his bows to himself and he can be useful again.

Would you Bull fans be able to tell me why you're letting Watson and Lucas III go!? From what I saw they both filled in for Rose very well when he was out; and now you're replacing them with some other scrubs!?

F$*K KNOWS!!!!

I don;t mind them picking up Hinrich, he's a nice combo guard that is comfortable at both positions and can shot the ball.

Lucas I can understand, but considering they have made no known moves this off season so far, I can;t see why they are letting CJ walk! And Korver could be on the way out too!!!! Next season will almost be a lottery season for us if things continue this way! Having said that though, a couple of small pieces and if we can some how replicate what we did with out Rose for most of this season then we'll be alright for when he comes back in... I think the coming season for Chicago is really a wait and see or even a gap year style year! LOL!

dallas mavs should very seriously consider elton brand... really need a guy like him

also cant believe lou williams hasnt gotten much of a mention during this free agency period in comparison to other guys... excellent young talent, suprised philly not keeping him around - will be someone else's benefit

love what the knicks have done in offseason given that they initially missed on nash sweepstakes... signed kidd, camby, novak, jr and will likely match on lin - already have tyson, melo, amare, shumpert, balkman... should be the most competitive knicks team in a long time and most importantly for them, they should be a very sound defensive team now - kidd, camby, tyson, shumpert all excellent defenders

I too really rate what the Knicks have done. I'm surprised how many guys are downplaying what Kidd can do by saying he can't shoot and he's 39.

Having a guy like that around + Camby will improve those guys immensely IMO.

They now have talent + experience + depth.

camby is the real difference maker defensively... blocks shots, alters shots, is quick, can run the floor still o offense, excellent rebounder - great value for NYC

I dont know

I so pissed of right now about this. Fucking hinrich is coming back for what reason?

I am seriously ready to jump ship. I stuck with the Bulls since MJ left, but stupidity is startingto piss me off.

If they dont want to spend money, may as well make no changes instead of sign shit layers worth the same as cj and lucas III

thing is, next years draft is predicted to be the worst in a few years. Being in the lottery is not going to do us any favours anyway haha.

Source: Ben Wallace Likely to Return

July 10, 2012

Big Ben will ride again for one more season.
A source close to the situation tells the Detroit News that “it’s a pretty good chance” Ben Wallace will return to the Pistons for another season.
Wallace, who will turn 38 in September, has been wanted back by the organization since the drafting of Andre Drummond.
“Me and Ben talk every other day,” Pistons President Joe Dumars said recently, while intimating he would give Wallace until the opening of training camp to make a decision.
Apparently he didn’t wait that long.

Source: Hawks Enter Howard Trade Talks

July 10, 2012

The Hawks have engaged the Magic in trade talks involving (Dwight) Howard, according to a person with knowledge of the discussions. That person did not want to be identified because the teams involved have not discussed the negotiations publicly.
The Hawks could offer Orlando better players than the Nets. But Atlanta could run the risk of trading away valuable assets only to lose Howard in free agency when his contract expires after next season.
Howard has given no indication he’s willing to commit beyond next season to any team other than Brooklyn. He recently told Yahoo Sports that if a team other than the Nets acquired him, he planned to play out his contract and become a free agent next summer.
