According to a report from RotoWorld.com
, the Dallas Mavericks have extended a contract offer to Brazilian center Rafael Hettsheimeir.
The 6-foot-10 big man has spent the last few years playing in Spain, most recently with CAI Zaragoza, where he averaged 13.3 points and 6.4 rebounds in 30.1 minutes per game last season.
Hettsheimeir is coming of knee surgery that will require him to miss the Summer Olympics but ‘will soon visit the U.S. for a series of physical tests and workouts before deciding which team to sign with.

So not only has this guy got no NBA experience, he's coming off of knee surgery... Great, a big with bung knees.... BUST!!!

I actually don't mind the Mavs thinking in looking overseas. Just looking at Australian guys playing overseas, both David Anderson and Aleks Maric could play in the NBA, probably not be stars, but could play solid minutes. I'm sure there are plenty of other players around the world in a similar position.

There is a hard cap of 74million (meaning can't go into luxury tax) and a soft cap (that allows you to go into luxury tax). Something to do with midrange contracts of 5million plus 8% increase per year vs 3million plus 4.5% increase per year will depend on which cap you go under.

That is all i know if anyone wants to expand for me that be great.

The $74 Million hard cap only exists if the team uses an exception that only "non-tax paying" teams can use and hence can't go into the luxury tax.

Would you Bull fans be able to tell me why you're letting Watson and Lucas III go!? From what I saw they both filled in for Rose very well when he was out; and now you're replacing them with some other scrubs!?

Yeah I'm not against them looking O/S too, they still have a young guard overseas too, but they doubt he'll play in the NBA now, or at least this year.

I just hate it when they desperately need solid defenders and/or low-post options, and they're looking at a guy coming off of knee surgery.

Still, Bernard James might have something to offer in that department!

Apparently we'll see some more signings come Thursday, when Free Agents can officially sign deals.

Chances are there's a few discussions in the mix that people are keeping behind closed doors, and they'll release that info on their 11th.

I look forward to a few suprises! Mavs and Sours have been quiet, maybe we might find something out then ;)

Hey we are not Sour, ha ha.

I would've liked Camby, but he's gone.

I'm sure they could get something for Blair. May need a PG with Mills exploring options. Hope he resigns.

Have just been reading a blog about Blair. Apparently next season he is only up for $1.1M so in terms of salary he holds very little trade value, but he sees his value to the team as greater than that and it sounds like he is a bit upset at the amount of playing time in the playoffs, so he may still be on the move.

There are still so many Free Agents that haven't signed, or really even given any strong clues as to their planned destinations, Mayo still a major unknown, and Kaman, both of these guys are starter quality. Can't wait til then.

You can't get anyone even half decent for $1.1M in a trade, so better off keeping on the bench as insurance.

Spurs need a PG to back up Parker.

Spurs have Diaw, Duncan, Splitter, Bonner and a Slovenian guy coming in. Blair will otherwise walk end of season for nothing.

He'll certainly be gone after these comments.

Nothing too bad, but I'd say he'll be on his way. I really like Blair and I do think he should've seen some more mins in the playoffs. But he's sort of saying that the reason they were on top was because of him:thumbsdown:

Blair's still locked in for another year, tho yeah?

I'd have loved to see the Mavs pickup both Brand and Lou-Will, and they've always been interested in CJ Miles.
