You always have to wonder what happened at the Raiders with a player like Drury Low. He was a worl beater in u20's and from memory scored 3 tries in the only 2 games he played in first grade but hasn't had a go since. Given the riaders form you kind of wonder where it all went wrong!

His defence was average - though so is the rest of the team at the moment.

We've had a few gun players in the 20s that haven't kicked on and even some that did like Croker and Papalii seemed to have stalled a bit now.

Hopefully we have a new coach next week that is better at guiding the young guys through...

Lets hope so. I know Furner has been given a fair shot and given the poor results (aside from our sensational run in 2010) he probably has to go but blaming the coach is the easy option out. Against the Cowboys I think we completed 4/14 first half sets and the defence was so poor, the Cowboys weren't that good we were just terrible!

Maybe a new coach will make a difference and given Stuart's high profile it might be a hug success but I quite like Furner and feel for him. He was a great player in his day, has always backed the team and has had the worst run with star players being injured!

Is Ian Schubert still on the Bulldogs pay roll?, how do they keep all these signings under the cap?.
Don't know much about this bloke, but I wouldn't think he'd be on big $$$. I'm a bit confused myself. I would have though Des would have been a bit more selective looking towards next year and beyond. Can't see him playing NRL any time soon, if ever?

Shane Shackleton to panthers
After spending the odd hour or 2 on the Tigers forum site the 'Shack' has long been a player that some Wests Tigers fans had felt was not being properly used at Kearney's Kingdom.
It's a pity that the Panthers look like picking him up rather than the Tigers, we could swap him for the 'Cashman', shave the Shacks head and confuse the opposition, is it Big Gal or the Shack!.

hes the nrl Salary Cap Auditor nd we dont have any big name players so we would be under the cap

Thats just unlucky, Dragons have had it just as bad if not worse, most teams will have a player or two out for the season or a large part of it, this is why you have a squad of 25 but end up using 30 odd players a season anyway, you need to manage it.. The best the NRL can do is 1 emergency player to a value of $80,000 can be brought in, anything else clubs will find a way to rort it...
I agree. I know it would be hard to come up with the rules and police them, but they do need some sort of cap allowance for injuries. Even if it is only for the season ending injuries. The Raiders as an example lost Campese and White both for the season by round 9. These are two of the highest paid players in the club chewing up cap space for almost a whole season that could be used on a new player. You'd have to think the NRL would prefer teams to be able to stay competitive.

On the Rumour mill do you think a lot of these under 20's players get lost in the system. We used to have a reserve grade competition that offered a good mix of experienced nrl players with the 20's , i think this has had an impact on the game of course $$$$ is the issue.
