I don't think all of the licenses will die with UD. Panini has clearly already bought the hoops license from Upper Deck (previously fleer, skybox prior to that) but I would like to see the Skybox name put in it's grave. Just looking at the history of that label - partial buyout by fleer in 1996, bankrupcy and complete buyout by fleer in 2000 (label disappears), label ressurrected by new fleer owners in 2003, Fleer declares bankrupcy in 2005, Upper deck introduces Skybox in 2008-09, upper deck's legal troubles begin in 2009. Skybox has become a cancer for card companies.
It might stop the market from being flooded with MJ autos too.
I have an MJ auto redemption thats been 2 years already. I wouldnt be suprised if i never see it.
I would think that the liquidators would have to distribute any leftover money towards that sort of thing as it really is 'paid for' goods! If it comes to that I mean!
