Who do you think will have a BREAKOUT 2011-2012 NBA season?

1) Toney Douglas - I think the 3rd year man is going to use that extra "e" in his name to electrify the the Knicks.
2) Taj Gibson - Time for the bulls to let the big man do his thing and just be Taj...
3) Chris Paul - He is pissed, nothing more then getting up the nose of an elite point guard, he has reason to play this year, for whoever he does play for.
4) Zach Randolph - He has taken his play to a new level, I would expect to see more of what he was doing last year.
5) Brandon Jennings - Again, my thinking is, he is a year older in the league and just has some stoopid skills.

My MVP candidates for the year... Blake Griffin and Kevin Durant.

I was going to add Toney Douglas but I think he had a very very good season and don't know what more he could do to add to the team given his skills. Thoughts as someone who sees more Knicks games probably?

Same for Randolph. Beastin. And will continue to do so but not breakout as such

Awesome thread Minh!

My picks in no particular order are:

1) Demar Derozan - Could be looking at 20+ points this year, dominated the last half of the season last year

2) Tyreke Evans - Had a poor season last year compared to his rc season. Will most likely take the point this year in sac, and will dominate

3) Hasheem Thabeet - I reckon McHale was brought in for a reason, mainly to develop Houstons young core, especially Thabeet, Hill and Patterson. Will get more game time, and will hopefully bring the inside presence that Houston needs

4) Omri Casspi - Will get a lot more game time in Cleveland, and on a struggling team, he could have similar stats to Dorell Wright. Will be a force from the 3pt line

5) Evan Turner - Worked extensively on his jump shot over the summer, and looks to be the goods. Will probably average around 15/5/5, but could improve on that depending if Iggy gets traded

Other guys: Jeff Teague, Marcus Thornton, Jordan Crawford, Roy Hibbert, Patrick Patterson, Gerald Henderson, Trevor Booker and Kyle Lowry

And I reckon the MVP will be Durant

Another guy i think is Deandre Jordan, gets better every year.. freak athlete, still raw still young.. playing in a great up coming team.

I reckon our own Andrew Bogut will have a monster year this year. Hopefully time off here in Australia let him get over his injuries and he will cement his place as a top center in the league!

time for an early season revisit

Ryan Anderson (wow)
BJ Mullens (wow)
Greg Monroe
Roy Hibbert showing promise on a very even team
Paul George
Jrue Holiday (good breakout as a PG)
Javale McGee doing ok on a crap team
DMC looks ok when he's not a paranoid android

many others

Duds so far. John Wall

A few of the 2010-11 draft are duds at the moment. Wesley Johnson, Landry Fields come to mind instantly. Good to see Turner picking up his game though :)

Tyler Hansbrough is having a Pretty Good Season and Anderson Varejao!

Kevin Love and LeBron James have Taken it to Another Level This Year!

5 Guys To Watch Out For:
Al-Farouq Aminu
DeAndre Jordan
DJ Augustin
Ty Lawson
Derrick Favors

Looks like Iman Shumpert is the surprise rookie of the year. I remeber watching his first game and thinking he was pretty confident for a rook. I'm looking forward to picking up a couple of cards of his this year!

...and Kawhi Leonard. Both extremely athletic guys who we thought couldn't shoot to save their lives! Rubio was another guy who was meant to be struggling with his shot but maybe all of those other T-Wolves scoring options make his shots a lot less contested...

BJ Mullens wtf, seriously the dude is fire this year!

glad I held onto this gold version...

*clears throat* Marshon Brooks

I wonder if players like Cole Aldrich and Eric Maynor would be this good if they left OKC?
