Who do you think will have a BREAKOUT 2011-2012 NBA season?

And Kenyon Martin too but I read yesterday something about a $500,000 grant teams can get under the new CBA to buy out players stuck in overseas contracts. maybe more will come out in the next few days

Lebron James and I'm not kidding. Really everyone should be talking about how he is the greatest in the League again. Just a freak of a player. Others I'd say would be

George Hill
Gordon Hayward
+ any Power Forward that teams up with Chris Paul this year.

 at Lebron..... He'll just choke when it matters anyway... And im not a hater!!!

Im with others in saying Tyreke will go nuts this year! I also think we will see more from Wall.

Ibaka will grow with a full season along side Perkins at OKC too!

Man Denver are screwed!

Nene leaving.

Afflalo leaving.

K-Mart/JR Smith/Wilson Chandler all stuck over seas.

I'll say Danilo Gallinari in denver and Jeff Green if he can be traded to a team where he step in and start straight away (the rumoured Boston/New Orleans trade sounds good).

1. Jrue Holiday (broke out to a certain degree last year but this year i see him becoming one of the league's top 6-8 point guards)
2. Ty Lawson (ditto)
3. Danilo Gallinari (all the nuggets are either playing in china or moving club - lawson and gallo are gonna be heavily relied on)
4. Greg Monroe (the pistons roster is a complete joke so he will see heavy minutes, and he showed in the second half of last season that he can be a force in the paint)
5. Serge Ibaka (will be what camby was a few years ago - defensive player of the year and blocks BEAST)

:)

Agree with McGee being due. Some guys who might be able to carry on their good form from late last year are Nick Young, Jeff Teague and Wes Matthew depending on how Brandon Roy plays.

Lawson, Barea and Mills should be in line for more minutes and responsibility and STATS. Confused situation with the Rockets starting PG spot - Flynn, Dragic and Lowry - all three talented guys who deserve the minutes so whoever emerges from that three way battle will have a great season. No Yao means shots for everybody and in that respect Thabeet might actually get a chance to play!

brandonroy is not playing anymore isnt he?

Jrue Holiday- A Good Player and showed it at the end of the Season as Long as he gets more playing time he will deliver.
Gordon Hayward- He has a lot of Potential and definitely showed coming to the End of the Season and the Game against The Lakers when Kobe Had 7 Turnovers.
Ty Lawson- With the Nuggets missing Melo he delivered and now with the Nuggets missing most of their Stars he will lead and play great.
Kemba Walker- He played so well at UCONN under pressure so i think he will do brilliantly and WIN the Rookie of The Year
LeBron James- He will come back stronger than Ever, I Reckon he'll Win the MVP and The NBA Championship.

nice thread Minh!

i reckon:

1. marcus Thornton, just signed a huge contract with the kings, this guy is impressive (look what he did when traded to the kings)
2. tyreke evans, if he is healthy he will put up the numbers, espeially with his new back court partner...
3. demarcus cousins, if he keeps his head, this guy wil be awesome...
4. jamesn harden, after last years playoff performance, i think he has more promise than the self destructing but very taleneted westbrook...
5. lebron james, after the disappearing act against dallas in the finals, lebron is hungry and to redeem himself...watch the heat roll.....

others that could be here: stephen curry, jj hickson, deandre jordan, greg monroe, george hill, john wall, javale mcgee, amare...

Christian Eyenga, OJ Mayo, and Lebron for me. Eyenga should just about have first shot at the Cavs shooting guard or small forward positions, and certainly has the athletic side of the game covered. If he's worked on a few small fundamental parts of his game, should be in for a big year, but probably on a struggling team. OJ Mayo seems to think this is the year that makes or breaks him, and has reportedly done a heap of work in the gym and on the practice courts. And Lebron has finally faced his demons, admitted he didn't do well wearing "the black hat", and was pushed to a place psycologically where he didn't want to really play. Seems this year he wants to drop the "bad guy" image he's been given through joining Miami, and just go back to having fun, and enjoying the game he's out there for. A lot of people seem to take that as "b@tching out", not being able to play the villain, but honestly some people just aren't wired that way. It doesn't make them weak...

BTW, I've seen Hickson on a few lists here. He may have a "break-out"year when you lok at points, rebounds and assists, (mainly points and rebounds, of course...), but if he plays like he did in Cleveland, and I've seen nothing to suggest he's even interested in changing, he'll give back a fair part of those gaudy numbers with brain-fart defensive positioning, and just bone-headed moves in general. He also doesn't have the greatest hands, and they're probably under-sized for his frame/size too. You'll see him do a lot of 2-handed jams. This in large part is because when he goes for a 1-hander, unless he's mind-blowingly open, he tends to bobble/fumble the ball... Just my 2 cents. I saw a LOT of Cavs fans who were convinced he'd grow out of the bad hands/defensive positioning, but he never did...

1) Toney Douglas - I think the 3rd year man is going to use that extra "e" in his name to electrify the the Knicks.
2) Taj Gibson - Time for the bulls to let the big man do his thing and just be Taj...
3) Chris Paul - He is pissed, nothing more then getting up the nose of an elite point guard, he has reason to play this year, for whoever he does play for.
4) Zach Randolph - He has taken his play to a new level, I would expect to see more of what he was doing last year.
5) Brandon Jennings - Again, my thinking is, he is a year older in the league and just has some stoopid skills.

My MVP candidates for the year... Blake Griffin and Kevin Durant.
