I am thrilled for Ed Cowan - I wrote on here a few weeks ago that I thought we needed tough, dogged scrappers in our batting line-up who could give us a score of 280 or thereabouts when the going is tough.
The twenty wickets won't be a problem, which is amazing when you consider the monster scores England racked up against us just one year ago - however the batting has reached a point where players like Cowan, Marsh and Khawaja will become crucial in getting us off to a safe, steady start if David Warner happens to fall early in the innings.
I am excited about the Tests vs India, reckon we will smash them to be honest, providing the groundsmen aren't "got at" and encouraged to produce belters by people who should keep their noses out of it.
Oh, and as for the BCCI refusing to use the Umpires Decision Referral System (again) - may we see twenty or more incorrect umpriring decisions against India during the series

Sorry, as much as I love Australia I've always thought Ponting was the worst captain since Kim Hughes (but at least he knew when it was time to retire) and Ive never been much of a fan of him as a person (Insert sub fielder or tranny reference here)

Ponting is a lot closer to the worst than the best Aus captain.... His record is reflective of the players he had, it had nothing to do with his captaincy. His captaincy cost us two Ashes series' in England.
Australian teams won under ponting due to talent, it had nothing to do with his captaincy, any one who thinks otherwise is crazy... was it CLarke or Katich (w/ Hauritz) who bowled the last hour against Panesar and the #10 in the first test against England last Ashes series there? that was about as good as it gets from an Aussie captain... Why bowl Mitch or the other speedsters against tail enders when if we bowl two of the most unthreatening spinners in world cricket we will get a couple of extra overs at them in the last hour.

I will concede that he is a good limited overs captain, but that's a lot easier than test captaincy. I should have qualified my statement as "test captain". Are you talking about that pathetic English side that came out after the first Ashes they won???
