Hi everyone,

I have a little project on the go at the moment and need some feedback from our wonderful NRL collectors here:

Would you be interested in cut signature cards being part of an NRL release?

Say for example, for NRL Series 1 2012, if there were 10 cut signature cards inserted as a redemption card, all numbered 1/1.

Example checklist below:

1 - Wayne Bennett
2 - Phil Gould
3 - Andrew Johns
4 - Brad Fittler
5 - Wally Lewis
6 - Mal Meninga
7 - Terry Lamb
8 - Laurie Daley
9 - Cliff Lyons
10 - Peter Sterling

Would this be a selling point for you? Would this make you want to buy more packs/boxes knowing these cards were in there? The players may change but you get my drift.

For those that dont know what a cut signature card is, here is one below:

Love to hear your thoughts on this? Would it work?

Cheers
Matt

If they were in champions then HELL YES!
I am not a fan of cut signatures though as there is no link between the player and your actual card (Just like sticker autos)
If its just another added insert and doesnt take away anything, you would have to be crazy to say no.

Thanks for the feedback.

Im guessing if there was a Steve Rogers card you would be interested? LOL

Some of these cards could also be cut signatures of players/coaches that are sadly no longer alive. Steve Rogers/Jack Gibson/Peter Jackson/Arthur Beetson/Ben Alexander etc. Baseball has a lot of these cut signature cards of players that are no longer with us and it wouldnt necessarily be current players more your legends etc.

Cheers
Matt

If it was legends then yes. If it was current players or even players retired in the last 15 years then id be less keen.

I'm not a fan of 1/1 cards..... Simply because you have no chance of completing a set.. 1/10 maybe.. But.. Truth is I wouldn't complain if it actually happened......

So I am the second "No" on that one....

I am not a fan of this unless that player has been out of the game for just say 30-40 years.... I really think that it looks cheap and to have someones old electricity bill on a so called Signature card looks like crap???? Come on get for real here....

What is the point of having cut signatures of those players and coaches listed in the first post, when they could just get them to sign some cards properly?!

1/1 isn't something I want either, it would ruin my Newcastle Knights collection!

Like what i said , these i honestly think that they look very cheap.... Where would you display them , in your toilet.... Anyway everyone to there own i guess....

So a cut signature is a physical sample taken from an unrelated item the player has signed at some point in their life?

If so, then yeah why not, especially if the player has passed away and a new signature is impossible.

I voted No because it seems so plastic and just for the sake of it!

We are not the USA and i find the more we follow their card system the less people become interested because it is near impossible to complete an entire year without paying thousands of dollars and nowadays due to so many subsets and signatures unless you buy several cases and pick the eyes out of it you get lost and disinterested!
By saying that my personal preference has always been the older cards because they were simple and collectable, now all the collecting is in the hands of dealers not individuals!

GU = GAME WORN, anything else is haphazard and just for the sake of following the US!
Just my opinion!

Sixth no. same as event worn...where is the reality..but know quite well this will follow the NBA and NFL line. The cheaper solution to game worn. If a game worn can be bought for less than say tops 1000$ and divided into 150 sigs and 300 non sigs, what would be the rise in production cost per 5,000 boxes. Give us a break Select, your just greedy or plain lazy. Someone else will do top level and bang we will have EXQUISITE standard. Yesssss

Im not sure what Select have to do with this. Its merely a question I hve put up and used one of their cards as a demo.
