First up shout outs to matty83 and aussiemjfreak for some worthy freebies and SBF for helping me land some cards. ...but the biggest shout out of all time goes to to Dave (Can't Fly) for going above and beyond and trading well and truly in my favour for no other reason than that he's a first rate bloke and a credit to the human race - as far as I'm concerned he is the modern version of Santa Clause! Very nice Skip; love the Big O auto and the old school autos.

Just out of interest, what does the King Flag auto have written on the back of it?

"King was a revolutionary player for New York as he could carry the Knicks by assembling 40 or 50 points in flash. The state of New York was pivotal during the American Revolution. The Redcoats put together the largest fleet of the 18th century, assembling 32,000 sailors and soldiers off Staten Island."

My bad - not the civil war but the battle for independence against the English. The link between King being a revolutionary Knicks player and the British fleet is rather tenuous at best though! Here I am thinking the American Flag patch should represent playing for your country at the Olympics or some other international event.....

Where was that thread about the Panini editors and script writers again?! lol If there's a history lesson to give here let me do it! :-P

Re: The not so secret Santas! Fat Spuds, Speedy Hot Rods and a HUUUUUUUUUGE PC additi

Awesome work Skip!!!!

Its all the more interesting considering the American Revolutionary War was fought to gain freedom from a king and it was fought under a flag that looked nothing like the flag on the front of the card!

Cheers Kiwi - nice to trade punches with the big boys sometimes!

Yes, it's all about King and country! hah hah My earlier comment was pretty dumb actually - ships probably didn't play a huge part in the civil war - lol

Not in the American Civil War no, but a few ship in Boston Harbour had a fair part to play in the American Revolutionary War.

Re: The not so secret Santas! Fat Spuds, Speedy Hot Rods and a HUUUUUUUUUGE PC additi

I was looking forward to hearing about Bernard King being present when the Monitor fought the Merrimack.

The Oakley card should have had a picture when he had his unique haircut, from his earlier years in New York. It is very exciting to see a uniform card for him.

Floor cards are underrated.

Yi and Joe Alexander may have spoken the same language, but their games didn't translate to the NBA. Houston should have signed both of them when they had Yao, they could call out plays to run in Chinese and the other team wouldn't know what they are saying. Anderson went much later than Alexander in the same draft, which was odd as Anderson was taller and both players had a similar game. That card has interesting numbering, a Gretzky/Gretzky.

The Certified FOTG Triple Patch cards are super.

Have they made more Mark Eaton cards in the last year or so than during his entire playing career? He made games fun to watch, players would challenge him and he would keep blocking them most times. The Utah offense was a bit odd with him on the floor, but in those days with the illegal D rules it was often just two players on one side of the court with the ball so the Jazz had Malone and Stockton for that.

Re: The not so secret Santas! Fat Spuds, Speedy Hot Rods and a HUUUUUUUUUGE PC additi

Sweet additions and love the Big O for the finale :worthy: Congratulations on the early Christmas presents

Re: The not so secret Santas! Fat Spuds, Speedy Hot Rods and a HUUUUUUUUUGE PC additi

I'll take the Marbury's off your hands if you don't want them haha

Re: The not so secret Santas! Fat Spuds, Speedy Hot Rods and a HUUUUUUUUUGE PC additi

Derrick Brown MUST be working on his game all the time cause he's certainly not taking that time to sign his name!

Cool Eaton patch. I could block everyone too though if I was 8ft40in too!

And awesome Big O for sure!

...card should have been made in relation to someone considered as Celtic royalty then! Good to see someone up to speed wth history *doffs cap* - no taxation without representation indeed!

Floor cards are definitely under-rated - love th ebranding they have on them too. Two of my favourite cards are actually pieces of the Boston garden floor - unique and now impossible to get! Yao actually speaks Mandarin whereas Yi is from the south where his native tongue would hav ebeen Cantonese - still, everyone in China basically speaks Mandarin - would have been a marketers dream and the Rockets would have been the most popular team in the world! Severla billion people tend to impact on demand for Rockets merchandise! Heaps of Mark Eaton inserts and autos in recent times - even MJ considered him the most challenging shot blocker because he could really fill the lane. When Eaton left, the Jazz just couldn't find anybody to cog the lane like he did - pure shot blcoking intimidation! ZOne defence is for guys who can't play defence!

Love that Fat Lever.

That's what all the girlies say! hah hah Just kidding mate - definitely one of the most under-rated players of all time.

Sweet additions and love the Big O for the finale :worthy: Congratulations on the early Christmas presents

Is Oscar, is good! I'm going to see if one day I can end up with more cards in my mailday than yours! hah hah

I'll take the Marbury's off your hands if you don't want them haha

I've got some really decent Marbury stuff! It's not liek I don't like his game or his cards but damn, I've got a lot of them! I'll check through your bucket mate and see if I can help your PC along....

Derrick Brown MUST be working on his game all the time cause he's certainly not taking that time to sign his name!

And awesome Big O for sure!

Why is it the young players I like have such **** sigs? Lazy generation Y punks who aren't used to handling a pen! hah hah Eaton was ONLY 7ft 4in - and there are still plenty of tall guys who couldn't block shots to save their lives... FEAR THE EATON BEARD!

..and yes Big O dominant as always!

Re: The not so secret Santas! Fat Spuds, Speedy Hot Rods and a HUUUUUUUUUGE PC additi

Another nice array of cards there Skip. That Payton is a spin out, i was offered the Logoman version a while back but couldn't bring myself to pay the asking price especially for a card with 3 different teams involved with it.

Some great cards in this lot.
For mine the pick o the bunch is the payton '3 Team' card, truly mind boggling logic there from the manufacturer!
