It's been a long while since I've posted a mailday as I've been trying to complete a few mini sets. A huge shout out to Matt in the US - without his help I wouldn't be able to own half of these cards!
This isn't all of my recent pick ups, just a selection of my favourites.
Let's start with a set in progress - John Kundla was the Lakers coach when Mikan and Pollard were the stars, winning 5 titles (4 in the NBA). I'm now chasing the variations of the common and one more plate to complete the rainbow. With 3/4 plates, this one is close! Anyone seen the last plate??
Now the Worthy cards.
I'm only two off the Retro insert set - a 61 yellow/red variation and the green PMG.
The autos are a bit harder to find - only have the two:
Getting close to the Leaf set - looking for the "Top 50" inscription and the 1/1 (which is on eBay for 3x the value - if anyone can help with this one, let me know!):
The other Leaf collections are looking pretty good too (nno, /10, /5 and of course 1/1):
A nice Prizm rainbow (after the gold finals version to complete that rainbow)!
National Treasures subset (all /25):
Exquisite subset:
And a couple of random autos to end with:
/49, /10, /10. Love the middle /10 (shame about the sticker auto):
If anyone can help me with my 20+ year growing collection of James Worthy, please send me a pm!
Thanks for the comments guys...it's nice to share my joy at times. I think all too often this hobby can break down into a 'who can spend the most' competition. For me, and many on this site, the thrill is in the chase of that elusive card. I'm stoked to have picked up one of the three remaining Retro inserts this week - for less than $2. 20+ years down the track, I'm enjoying this hobby more than ever!
Special shout out to the worlds biggest Worthy collector and someone I consider to be a good mate - great to see you active on the boards again JP!
Oh, and don't forget to let me know via PM if you can help me in growing my James Worthy collection - 129 autos (not counting doubles and 3 pending redemptions) and too many to count gu, inserts and commons...and growing!
