why this Michael Jordan Card is Expensive?

Maybe even 10 Griffins Dave!

90s numbered MJs are off the charts and are well beyond a short term spike, they are gone and they ain't comin' back...

Crazy sh#t!! I must admit I love collecting numbered 90's MJ cards and its the only thing really keeping me in the game lol

I been watching this auction as a fleer collector.

I don't know if that card is embossed or not. I have seen other auctions in the past where you can clearly she the embossed part of the card. To me it appears to be one of those fleer auction cards that was numbered and not embossed. I Know a lot of them got miss graded originally and people started making complaints, so beckett start putting sub label underneath that said not embossed/not numbered or embossed/not numbered or not embossed/numbered for the fleer auctions backups.

On a side note, you would think the shipping be free for such a high sale.

bankruptcy ones werent stamped were they? in fact every non serial numbered one hasnt been embossed....so if its serial numbered it should be embossed.

I can tell you now there are serial numbered non embossed ones.

Probably some person stamped them later. But I can safely say I have seen them.

Yes, there was one listed recently of MJ:

Little confusing. But kkoenig75 clearly states, that his specimen is embossed and thus the real
deal. Finishing price suggests, that bidders took his words for good, as 4 different parties typed in
at least 8.200 USD for a 9.100 USD final sales price.

Well I guess we will find out. Also don't forget, there are people out there who confuse normal shine and refractor cards.

Perhaps just bad scans? I know some scanners can't scan well through plastic.

Only reason I questioned it cause I seen real embossed ones that where scanned, they were way more obvious as you could see the bumped surface.

Yeah sometimes it's hard to tell if they're embossed from the pics. Mine in my avatar you'd have no idea, but it's the real deal ;)

I'd love to snag another too.

lol even though yours is small you cna jsut see the bumps.

anyway, I wish I continued collecting my fleer sets throughout the late 90s. Means I would have a complete set at 1/100th of the cost haha.

Altjhough was kind of hard as internet shopping wasn't that big and all local stores closed down.

There is a collector in Europe, who probably owns the most complete 90s insert sets in the world (more then 1000 different sets, including many low numbered of the late 90s !!! )

Last year he was able to complete the Playmakers Theatre set. Guess he needed
10+ years.... his pics:

Dont know about the scans, not mine.

Agree on the PWCC-auction. Thats not a good job by both BGS and the seller.
BGS should not grade cards, that were not pulled from packs. And if they do, they
should state that on the label (as they actually do sometimes). And the seller should
state, that this was most likely a replacement card or something similar.

Price at 4.494 USD currently seems way too high for a card with unknown origin.

I reckon this is one of those that was graded before beckett knew about all the different unofficial versions (one would hope). even if this was a fleer auction card it is still not worth that kind of money.

The one that went for ~$4.5k is amusing, seeing as the seller's description stated BV$800.

beckett is out of touch with the market demand.
