When I first started collecting basketball cards my first cards were of Alonzo Mourning and Larry Johnson. Zo looked cooler so I stuck with him.
He was my first ever favorite player so I followed him through his entire Heat journey. What a warrior! In 2003-04 we were lucky enough to get Wade, who definitely exceeded all expectations set for him, seeing as he was the #5 pick and thought to be a step worse than both LeBron and Carmelo.
Now we have LeBron, which is a bit of a dilemma. You never want a player who others consider "the best" to come onto your team when you believe your guy (Wade) is the best. But I've come to appreciate LeBron's talents, what other choice do I have? He's not going anywhere soon, and his play is phenomenal.
Personally I don't care about the hate or whatever. It's the Heat's time in the sun, we've had our lows. After the '06 title getting swept by the Bulls, then winning 15 games. Missing out on drafting Rose despite having the best odds and getting Beasley who didn't live up to expectations. Having Wade be the best player in the league in 08-09 but not get MVP because the Heat only won like 43 games or something like that.
It's our time now. The hate just comes with the territory.
No it comes from the way they went about everything and the way they continue. I loved Wade before this year and felt he was one of the most humble players going round and very under rated. Now I think lebron is rubbing off a bit more on him and he's all of a sudden got a very cocky persona. Although I do feel sorry for him now because he will always live in lebrons shadow.
