Personally, I hate the current Heat team because of what they've done/how they've gone about their business, and their total lack of depth. "Let's just go buy superstars and then think about how to fill up the roster...".
They only play 8 players a game (unless miserable ol' bastard Howard goes on court).
Check out the box score - they have:
House
Howard
Jones
Ilgauskas
Magloire
Dampier
Pittman
and none of those will play. That's my beef, just how they did it.

But that's not what this is about. I'm rooting for Dallas, but for those rooting for Miami I want to know - why?

If Miami win they will be the worst 'team' to win the title. But that is not the point of your thread. I personally dont know why anyone would be supporting them!!!!!

agree with you 100% hairy. Thats my main beef with Miami..... have basically gone out to buy a championship. This is why I love the bulls so much. The core of their team they have drafted and developed themselves and are building around that. Rose, Deng, Noah are all Chicago products. Yes they brought in role players but every team does that. Suppose though I'm a stickler for loyalty etc (ie like in the AFL), but you don't get much of that at all in US sports.

............Waits for Jimbo to enter thread with essay on why Miami are the best team ever

I go for the Nuggets, But have always been a HUGE fan of Wade & James and its as simple as that, two of my favourite players, one of which i believe is the best player going around, are on the same team and they are in the NBA finals. I understand what people mean when they say the team is bought etc. etc. but at the end of the day, for the owners & GMs, its a business and you've got to do what you've got to do. Plus i CANNOT stand the Mavericks.

Honestly for me I don't have a hatred for either team but don't much care for either of them as well.

I don't understand how anyone can say they can't stand the Mavs?! An awesome owner who takes fines and pays out money for players he wants and a bunch of veterans and players who don't do anything outrageous or stupid. I just don't understand it.

I have 2 reasons. Reason 1, I dont like Jason Kidd or Jason Terry. Reason 2, I have never forgiven them for their dirty play in 2009 Western Conference Semi-Finals against Denver.

Having grown up in the Jordan era I never collected or followed him as a player as that was what everyone else was doing - I wanted to be different. Looking back at that discision I honestly regret it.

When Bron came into the league I thought this is my chance to get in and collect a potential great of the game from early on in their career. Not to mention the guy has some serious game and is great to watch. For me KG is still my number one player to support but with the Heat dumping them in the playoffs I'm behind the Heat.

I have said it before and I will say it again.... Keep hating everyone so my PC can keep growing!!! :D

When I first started collecting basketball cards my first cards were of Alonzo Mourning and Larry Johnson. Zo looked cooler so I stuck with him.

He was my first ever favorite player so I followed him through his entire Heat journey. What a warrior! In 2003-04 we were lucky enough to get Wade, who definitely exceeded all expectations set for him, seeing as he was the #5 pick and thought to be a step worse than both LeBron and Carmelo.

Now we have LeBron, which is a bit of a dilemma. You never want a player who others consider "the best" to come onto your team when you believe your guy (Wade) is the best. But I've come to appreciate LeBron's talents, what other choice do I have? He's not going anywhere soon, and his play is phenomenal.

Personally I don't care about the hate or whatever. It's the Heat's time in the sun, we've had our lows. After the '06 title getting swept by the Bulls, then winning 15 games. Missing out on drafting Rose despite having the best odds and getting Beasley who didn't live up to expectations. Having Wade be the best player in the league in 08-09 but not get MVP because the Heat only won like 43 games or something like that.

It's our time now. The hate just comes with the territory.
