You shouldn't have to change at Lidcombe for Olympic Park, you didn't have to for any of the finals games played there. For big events it just goes straight there.

sorry to hijack your thread nick but i had a similar question about staying near the Ground, we have now booked a room now in westmead just after parra, but was just wanting to know if anyone could tell me is it easy and how long will the train take form the Airport to westmead station?

you will need to go to central station from the airport then change trains to Westmead. platform 18 I think at central. All the western line trains stop at Westmead because of the hospital. will cost about $18.00 as you are paying a fee to use the airport terminal. will take about an hour depending on how long you wait for trains.
