Scanlens RL / Cricket sticker books were great and so were the cards.
Post 1991, we were lucky with RL that others continued each year except for 1998/99 (and really 1997).
Cricket has had a variety of manufacturers on and off over the years. Even Weet-Bix cards come and go and seem to have gone for good now.
For mine, I can't see why they can't do a BBL series with the Test / ODI teams included as 25-50 cards and/or subset like the BBL 2012/13 sets. But you want the whole list of Test contracted players included.
Kids are going mad for the BBL and like the RL, they really would benefit from a newspaper binder and cards set. My son still reads his 2012 Daily Tele NRL card set and I was quite miffed it went last year (although we did get Powerplay as a substitute).
CA is missing certain revenue from kids AND adult collectors.
