What to do if you suspect an ebay seller of shill bidding?

Just wanted to know if there is a general consensus around what people do when they suspect someone is shill bidding.

I saw a case of late where the auction had limited bids and the winning bidder had 0 feedback and all of the bids history was with the seller. Keep in mind that there was more bids in the persons profile than on that item, so not just all the bids were on that item.

Also wanted to know of a consensus when you believe that someone on ozct might be one of those type people?

Interested on thoughts. Names won't be released at this time.

Not much you can do as ebay don't care about it. Bid on their auctions if you like and then if you win tell them you aren't paying the high bid but you will give them the price it would have ended at without their shilling OR avoid their items altogether.

Did you buy any of the cards from the seller?, I have had it happen to me at times, and contacted ebay about it but they just ignore the problem. Just like about every other problem that arises on ebay. I would recommend not bidding on their items, I hope that helps.

If you are sure they are shilling, it's worth naming them to warn others. No point in keeping it to yourself, even if ebay shuts this auction down, they are bound to do it again. I for one want to know who it is so I can avoid bidding on their items.

Tend to agree here, but like you say, I would have to be 100% sure that they are shill bidding. I have had a couple of people check into it and after seeing that the winning bidder had 100% bidding activity with that seller, it all seemed to suss.

Okay Norm, I think I let the jury decide.

Here is a link to the seller's auctions that all ended recently. All sold and funnily enough, all ended back up for sale on this site by the same seller. The fact that the seller has posted in this thread also concerns me.

That is my ebay 'nbacollectables' , I already explained to you about the situation with that auction, the buyer contacted me after I sent him an invoice and told me he could not afford to pay for the cards within 5 days, so my unpaid item assistant and it is recouping my ebay fees from them as I speak. Don't bid on my future auctions, and I won't be doing business with you in the future. Get your facts straight before you try to sully someones name next time!

Sorry bro, but there are other auctions you have had in the past with the same "unfortuante" situations where you have sold the same item that someone has won on ebay only a month later. Plus the fact that you had the same buyer do it to you on multiple situations on your auctions this time around, all seems to fishy for me.
Look I am sorry if this is just coincidental and unlucky winning bidder stuff for your auctions, however ebay signs from the bidding history point to otherwise. The facts are all there on ebay man.

Sorry but have to agree, if you've bid up to that amount and you know that the next bid will be the highest bid and possibly winning bid (because you've revealed the highest bidders highest bid)…why not place that extra "winning" bid???? Looks suss to me.

just looks suss mate because the bidder bid on 19 of your items and has only ever bid on your items, in the end its all circumstantial but unfortunately people will draw their own conclusions
