* Checklists with club colour foil lining.
* Captain Footy Pals replaced with Stickers, Separate sticker album available for $4.99.

Stickers- 6 in a box.

First thing that needs addressing: Team Zone. I want cards that look like this: http://thumbs1.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mjjUFbN528VEI8v-CtT1w4w.jpg Action! Not what we currently have. I mean, look at the 2013 golds and look again at the 2014 commons, what is the difference? 2014 had many cards looking the same, but with a different print. The prize cards don’t look that much different from the golds this season. I like the shiny backs, but the prizes and golds look too similar.

Design wise, there isn’t much wrong, it’s just that they shouldn’t be together in the same set.

Anyway, onto what 2015 should have. I would like to see an increase to 216 players, and have the extra 18 be first year players. It’s a risk, yes, but it would be great to see. I still think it will be 198 for at least one more season. Commons and Golds need to have a visible difference in their pictures (See action shot for golds as noted above). I kinda like the silver/team colour hybrid used for this year.

I suspect B&Fs are going to remain a Herald Sun staple, giving you a chance to win prize cards prior to the start of the season. I get the feeling Captains are going to be dropped purely out of Teamcoach tradition to keep them for every even year. Flix and Pointers will stay. I suspect we might see Footy Pals for digital only (Yes, Footy Pals were in digital form similar to Select’s digital cards. You had a digital Footy Pal for every player that you could customise.)

I also suspect we might not see any new innovations until 2016, just more a tinkering of what is currently on offer, till the balance is right. Although I can’t help but think there might be ‘effect’ cards coming soon, that is, cards that exaggerate certain physical traits/abilities of players (like a speeding Cyril Rioli with flame effects.Jeremy Howe jumping over a human pyramid to mark or a growing Aaron Sandilands, where you just tilt the card and he grows.)

Alright, it seems silly, but I think that’s more in the ‘spirit’ of Teamcoach, they tell more about a player (This guy is quick, or this guy takes a great mark, ect.) rather than going for a Case Card (Which I agree, it should be the Premiership/Brownlow winner, but it will be in the box for anyone to get). Sig and numbered cards are not Teamcoach. The intent is meant to be ‘fun and collectable.’ That fits more with Select. The intended audience are going to find more fun in getting their cards signed by players as opposed to a pre-signed card.

I like the idea of the checklists with the club colour foil lining. It would be like the 2008 prize checklists, but in the club colours (That would’ve made those checklists even more awesome).

For some reason, I predict 2015's colour to be Purple. I tipped Orange for 2014 and Yellow for 2013... so who knows?

In terms of what should be in the series, I think 2014 did a good job. It has a nice range of cards (Commons, Silvers, Golds, Pointers, Flix, Pals, Checklists, Magic, Star, 3Ds, Stickers, Quiz, Prize. 13 types! 9 in your packs) In terms of the design, I think a little more work needs to be done. I think we agree that 2013's design choices were better. There was some good design in 2014, but more needs to be done to make it unique. Bring back the action!

The magics really need to be changed. The caricature style of this year is shocking. I liked the Glow in the Dark ones.

As yes, I did as well (The glow in the dark, which is something Team Zone actually specialise in). It's also weird how they're not see through and reversible. I understand that they wanted to keep them fresh, but it didn't quite work out. I found the caricature style alright (Still Jamie Cooper, mind you, he started from the 2011 series. It doesn't look too different, check out the 2012 and 2014 Franklins as well as the 2011 and 2014 Abletts (Please do not make me pick between them).

To be fair, we don't know exactly how rare those wildcards are. I could've sworn I've seen a crap ton more Ablett Brownlows this year, more than I have of previous years. Certainly more than Jobe's Brownlow B&F and the Roughead and McVeigh Premiership (Or the 2012 lot for that matter). Do remember those used to be actual prize cards from 2009 to 2011.

As noted, the case cards would actually be in the pack themselves, because it gives a chance for all to get them.

The stars last year should also be changed back to 2013 design. Medal Cards can just be that they get a. Magic or star Wild, and well, they draw the medal on them! Multiple winners would get 2 types, & numbered on the back to 300-500.

I'm alright with the star wild design of this year. Instead of the filling in of the team colours like the last two years, it has a cool chrome finish this year. I like it. It's a good touch for this year.

Hmm, so you're suggesting like a redemption card of sorts for the medals? I don't think redemption quite works with Teamcoach, because the prize cards are basically that, only it's game based. Because the idea with Teamcoach is that everything's collectible.

But what I have wanted to see is an expansion of the medal cards. Add the Coleman, add the rising star (Norm Smith would be a bit pointless). Heck, I kinda wish they show us the B&F award the players win. How many people would know what their B&F awards actually look like? I'd like to see that.

Oh yes, that would be excellent! Maybe we can have one on the Quiz cards just to spruce them up a bit. Please let that be a thing next year. It's about time people actually know that these B&F awards actually exist in a physical form!

The AFL Record4Kids should next year have 2-3 packs of Teamcoach, not one, And there should be a definite Footy Pointers/Footy Flix. It should be a hardback book, and for an extra $4.99, you get a 36 page sticker book where you pop the stickers I want instead of Footy Pals, plus a few facts and games, another pack of Team, and can be stored safely in the Record4Kids.

Ah yes, I remember the days when you did get a promo card in the very early years (Matthew Clarke being the very first card I ever got. I still have it). There was also the J-Squad Captain Wilds (Those were tricky). I am with you with the idea that there should be a card unique to the Junior Record (Heck, even the proper record these days, I'd certainly buy one). Maybe the captains will go back into the junior record? Or maybe we'll see a new and exciting innovation? Either way, they should be a unique card to be found there. Not like the Auskick version cards, but an actual proper insert.

Maybe we might actually see a first year player at long last? If you're ever going to see them, why not have the first year players in their own printing run and given to the Footy Record? That way it eliminates the guesswork of which first year players will star for each team.

You're a huge fan of the stickers, aren't you?

Yep. Similar to Match Attax Soccer Card Tins, alike 3 years ago, tins would be nice.
* 4 Packs of Team
* 1 Footy Pointer
* Pack of Medallion Chips
* 8 Random Gold Cards
* Collectible Large Tin
* Collectible Small Tin
* 12 Page Activity Book
Imagine this all for $10!
The Medallion Chips would be a pack of 'ese chips, based on the medal winners, 4 a pack.
18 B&Fs, Club Colour Chips(Maybe Store em in the Sun album as Well!)
1 Brownlow Purple Chip
1 Norm Smith Red Chip
1 Nab Rising Star Bronze Chip
1 Leigh Matthews Award Gold Chip
22 All Australian Chips
1 AFLPA Best 1st Year Player Blue Redemption Signature Chip
1 Light Blue & White Brownlow Redemption Signature Chip
1 Red & White Gold Foil Signature Redemption Norm Smith Medal Chip
1 Orange Premiership Redemption & Captain signature Chip
All in one fancy album.

Ah yes, I see! You want the Teamcoach series to be similar to the Topps gaming series! It’s funny how not many people actually make that connection.

Although what you’re describing is a whole little side series from Topps rather than the ‘main attraction.’

Then again, replace chip with card in order to keep the card focus, and I think you’re onto something. I mean, as opposed to a player, it’s a medal card of sorts… but! Innovation. It could be like one of those cards where if you rub it a few times, it would reveal the winner of that medal/award. (Good call on the Leigh Matthews Cup, the Teamcoach series is AFLPA approved, so why not? Though no Coleman?)

The only line I would have to draw would be the redemption versions of these card/chips, because as noted, the prizes are the main focal point. Besides, you’ll get your chance next year with that lot.

Fair enough. I prefer cards myself. But if Team Zone want to go and do a Chipz series, I think it would be a great idea. Certainly a few that like their tazos here. It certainly does have potential with the younger bracket, that's for sure.
