What killed the hobby in the 90s

Even though the dollar is one to one now with the greenback, australia's import rate is still US$0.53 - that's what I mean by howard/costello fixing it. Pretty much until a treasury does a complete overhaul of australia's import policies, that's going to be the rate. That's why electricals and cars are so damned expensive. that and the "not-all-inclusive" GST.

That's quite interesting. Best thank that little nerd Johnny Howard for that. When does that run out?

Dont forget also that it was not just the NBA market that hit the skids.

The entire market (MLB, NFL etc) all tanked in the US. Here the NRL market tanked and Dynamic went broke in 1996 and Select also came pretty close to extinction.

I think also that it was the "in thing" in the early 90's to collect cards and once that trend started to die all of a sudden there was way to much product and not enough people to buy it.

No idea, Spurlec. WE need a treasurer with the cahuna's to actually overhaul our treasury, our import policies - basically, overhaul how australia trades. Don't get me started on John Howard, he's the cause of the economic woes we had as well as rediculously high fuel prices.
