Ufc 105 "spoiler alert!!!"

If you guys can't contribute to posts without arguing with each other, we will just be closing the thread.

Play nice with each other.

Thanks for this Graham. I am taking billyholes advice and adding him to my ignore list so I can't see his ridicoulous and rude posts. Girds out .

LOL, Hardy has had 4 fights in the UFC, Gono, Markham, Davis (who he only just beat in a close decision) and Swick.

Of those guys only Swick is in the top 10. So the guy wins 4 fights, beating only one guy in the top 10 and he gets a title shot ??????

He hasnt even fought in the usa yet, where im assuming the title fight will be. In his entire MMA career he has fought in the states twice and lost both times.

I really think he needed to go in against a thiago Alves, Fitch or Hughes, even a koscheck (who is at least in the top 10) to earn that shot.

And who ever said those guys were crap after my first post. Fitch has had 11 fights in the UFC and lost 1 (the title fight against GSP). Alves has had 12 fights in the UFC and lost 3 (to Spencer fisher early on, Fitch and GSP). And im sure i dont need to explain who matt hughes is.

Just my point of view. But obviously you are all on the hardy bandwagon. So enjoy watching him get dominated by GSP.

Peace out.

hahahaha he doesnt deserve a title shot and that is that. But he does have a cool hair cut.

Also that fight he had with Gono went to a decision which was very close and debated I believe, from memory, so yeah. He has done a lot.

Finally watched (most of) 105, caught about the last half of it at the pub today!

Just read all the posts here.

I think they give guys title shots too early. Hardy needs a few more tough fights to really cement himself in the 170 division before getting a shot. If (when) he loses to GSP then it will be a big set back to his (Hardy's) career, which would be a shame, as he is one of my favourite ww's. It seems like the UFC struggle to find deserving people for title shots and tend to give any promising fighter a shot after only a couple of UFC fights - ie... Hardy, Lesnar, Carwin, Cote, etc

I was over the moon that Randy 'won' his fight. I agree with the earlier post, in my opinion I had him winning round 1 and losing the other 2. I really can't stand Vera so was happy that he lost the decision!

I would expect BJ to absolutely annihilate Sanchez.

I would have been happy to bet cards/packs with people on that one (bit late now!)

I hope the Tito vs Griffin fight turns out to be a good one. Tito at his best was awesome, but has been plagued by injury and not at his best for quite some time. Would love to see the old Tito again, bullying and overpowering people like he used to!

Someone mentioned that Rashad Evans was going to fight Thiago ALVES.
Almost right, he (Rashad) is going to fight Thiago SILVA.
Alves is a bit too little for Rashad!!

Yeah totally agree. I mean dont get me wrong I do like Hardy, the guy can fight, but the title shot is just a bit pre mature in my opinion.

Anyways, bring on 106. I cant wait to see Tito again.

Hey Seige, was it the BJ Sanchez fight you were saying you would be happy to wager on. If so Ill take you up on that. Ill back the nightmare

How about this.....

For 2 packs of UFC series 2 cards??

If BJ wins you send me 2 packs (or $27 to cover the cost of 2 packs)
If Diego wins then I will send you 2 packs!
If it is a draw then a pack each!! (makes it more interesting)
If it is a judges decision then we respect the decision even if we think they got it wrong!

You agree?? :D

Will have to make sure we do a break for the packs on here!!

Better act on this soon, before the event starts!!

b dean, your comments are just plain boring.

are you another one like girds, just started following the ufc when the ufc cards started comming out ??

why dont you surprise me with a informative/expanded opinion, not just oh GSP will win bla bla , hardy doesnt deserve a shot, then trying to start ampping up fitch and koscheck n alves.

i mean common dude, ill tell you why he should not fight those 3....... all those 3 have already had title shots and LOST..........they need to earn another shot, nothing else needed to say there.

as for matt hughes, his the worst fighter ive ever seen and his career is over, he finds it hard enough these days to even find a opponent........

i would rather see Marcus Davis have a title shot before koscheck, fitch and alves again........hope davis keeps winning

i think it would be safer to say, koscheck, fitch need to fight mike swick and marcus davis before anything happens in their career....

better still, what about:

fitch vs koscheck

thats till yet to happen....

i agree with seige to the fact the ufc picks out some early title shots, i would of probly rather seen marcus davis or mike swick have the title shot firstly, but hey hardy came on the scene and smoked em all..... which has lead him to a title shot, cant blame him for winning the fights,,,, maybe a little early for him to have a ufc title shot yes..... but he beat the opponents and also has a great fight record outside of ufc.

and as for who will win the title, we will soon see for ourselfs. (not backing anyone, but would be classic if pierre looses to hardy :D)

Ok, So if Hardy doesnt get the next shot who does? Title shots are often a matter of timing as well rather than purely your record. People like Koscheck or Davis or Swick all have losses recently, There is no clear contender, And that is often the case in many divisions. So a person who can make a case, even if its not the best one, can take the spot of #1 contender.

Its just the nature of the beast that is MMA, Fighters lose fights they shouldve won and it hurts their runs at a title. I mean if Swick won his fight against Hardy would anyone really be complaining right now? I dont think anyone could if he did beat Hardy, aside from a fight with Alves who else was there for him to fight of any significance.

LOL, it would be a boring world if we all agreed on everything mark. And yeah man, I only started following the UFC when the cards were released. Your right, you got me. What does it stand for again.

Yeah i like your idea, Fitch v Koshceck. and the winner of that fight, fights the winner of Hardy v Alves for a title shot. Simple really. would that not be an idea if there is no clear cut contender. But whatever the decision has been made, Ill enjoy the fight.

And the latest rumour is that GSP v HARDY will be the headliner of the Australian card. Not yet confirmed. But that is the latest.

And Hardy didnt exactly smoke em all. 4 wins, 3 by decision, 2 of which were very close. So if thats smoking them all then I assume we are going to see George Sotiropoulos get a title shot if he wins today, as that will be 4 ufc victories in a row?????

and seige your on. Ill take that bet buddy.

Alves and Fitch were due to fight until Alves got an injury. Koscheck is fighting in a couple of hours. That is the problem here. You cant just halt everything to make the perfect matchups. Fights need to be made, and if the timing isnt right then its just stiff ****.

Hardy has beaten Gono who was a top 20 WW at the time. Markham who is ****, and Davis and Swick who are both top 10 guys. Hardy is now definitely a top 10 guy and i really cant see a problem with gsp v hardy.

Not every title fight can be #1 vs #2. Especially when in GSP's case, hes already beaten so many guys in that division. Nobody is going to care about a rematch with Alves or Fitch right now, he raped them. At least Hardy is going to make it entertaining with his pre fight antics and it will sell big time with the UK crowd.

thats what i like to see.

i was just getting sick of all the boring 1 line comments about gsp....

ol george sitiropoulos representin australia hope he wins. (look out GSP )

edit: damn how could i forget about koscheck vs johnson !?!?! hugeee fight for either of them, cant wait....
