Trading Card Column in Handle Magazine

Some pretty cool news - I got an article published in the latest edition of Handle magazine, a new Aussie basketball magazine. Their first edition was released a few months ago, and the 2nd edition has just hit news stands.

The column is about cards and is titled "Department Of Fair Trading". It's on page 31 of the November/December issue. The editor has given me an ongoing column in their magazine which is just awesome.

While the one published this month is about my BGS experience, it's a great start for future months (where I hope to feature some of you guys and some great cards and also hopefully get some plugs in for OzCardTrader.com.au!) I did submit a story about Finest and Boguts first redemption cards also, but it wasnt used.

So, while copyright issues will stop my posting a copy of the article, feel free to go and find the magazine in your local shops. Also - make sure you write to Handle to tell them what a great idea it is that they have a column about trading cards in their magazine!

Great for the hobby and hopefull the boards too. This may bring more collectors out of the woodwork.

You have the smarts to write such articles too. Good to see it went to a real collector and not some NBA wanna be fan.

Yeah, I read the 1st issue too. Was a fantastic read, and surprisingly, I got interested in the article about Shoes. I was wondering when (or if) the next issue was being released, so hopefully I can pick up an issue tomorrow.

I think in the 1st issue they made mention (or you may have on the previous site), that there was gonna be an article about collecting appearing, so I look forward to reading your work. I'll definitely be encouraging the mag to continue the column, so we can hopefully look forward to your work more often.

Yep I think I may have mentioned it previously, and the new issue should be out now!

As i've said, the first issue was just a general story, in future editions I hope to cover collectors from here (highlighting the white whales of the collections) and answer questions, and also a calendar of card shows around Australia. Hopefully it will help bring some of those closet collectors out of the woodwork and get those card shows a bit more interesting with more collectors.

yeah i figured it was an editorial decision and not just you being lazy
i thought a complaint (or many, if everyone else decides to follow suit) might mean u get a better deal.

i did indeed buy the new issue and wanted to spit at it when i saw how much smaller the DOFT article was this time around. not good enough handle !

can u point myself and everyone else in the right direction to complain to?
