I'm sure people will have different opinions keen to hear them for the following scenario..
Do you think getting an old Scanlens card 68/69 in mint condition signed by the player ,would increase the value of the card or not, would you get it signed as part as your set collection or not..
If I had a 68/69 card, I would get it signed but I would probably do it in biro not marker pen to make it look more authentic in age as black markers were not around in the 60's.
Sorry. My turn of phrase confused you. I wasn't asking you who he was. I was like: are you a Satts fan? - [excited!!!] Am I?!?! Oh boy oh boy yes I am!!!
I also think it depends how good the players signature is and how they are with signing cards,
An example is the 2012 league leaders I've seen some of them look awesome signed because the player takes his time knowing it's a valued card e.g thaiday, campese others couldn't care less e.g. Prince,
For me if the player will take the time to do a nice auto go for it!
I have mint/nr mint sets in most years of the scanlens. I personally would not get the mint/nr mint ones signed in those cards. I would however get other scanlens signed if they where not mint. I am also a collector of signed cards.
I agree with moz on this one - I would NOT get a MINT card of 60s/70/74 vintage signed if the opportunity arose. Personally I think you would be DE-valuing the card in the those instances. Find a cheaper example in good condition and you will probably increase it's value (if value was the driving factor).
