I agree with @Matt26 and believe there will be a /10 mojo in Elite 17.

The mojo's this year look great and have created lots of interest however they were stacked into dealer cases which would be fine if the newsagent cases were considered retail boxes and were $6.99 or cheaper.

I also think that they should be spread out one per box via redemption to stop player hoarding. More value needs to be added to a basic box, the YG sigs should be dropped to /390 and be one per box also

I don't think too many people will be weighing up to 240 packs to find a different weight in a newsgency that will usually only have 1 or 2 boxes on display.

Do you take your scales with you card shopping??
Some dodgy resellers would open boxes and weigh the packs to try and jag one for themselves and resell the duds

I know it's been done in TCGs like Pokemon (and they recently implememted a solution) so I dunno if it'd be a far stretch to say someone, somewhere is doing it.

Ok, here is something to consider....

630 cases
6300 boxes
151,000 packs total

Now say the teams with 10 Mojo cards per team (160 total cards).

Now have the Mojo Cards packaged individually.

#/40 fall 1 in 23.6 packs - 1 per box - like the old Collectors Choice Gold Signatures
#/20 fall 1 in 47.3 packs - 1 every 2 boxes
#/10 fall 1 in 94.5 packs - 1 in every 4 boxes

Every box would have a mojo card of some sort, some may have 2 different ones.

Now the reason why this would appeal for ESP is that it makes these cards a huge chase to complete and would continue to drive sales with people looking for these specific cards.

Collectors can now just buy the whole set all at once, imagine the trading and busting for people a) trying to put a specific (or all 3 sets together) and then b) the ultimate chase trying to get all the same numbers! Some people would be put off by this, but some would see it as a huge challenge!

Just a thought!

Cheers
Matt

Would be a great challenge no doubt....until some f***wit buys 1 of each number to prevent anyone from getting a set all numbered the same and puts them on Ebay at 10x the going rate.....just because they can

The only thing that justifies the demand and price for me is that my mojo set Is all the same number.
If they seperate them I would say the value drops

at first I hated the mojos from last year but I think they are much better this year and much more appealing.
I would rather more of a focus on the jersey patches or more memorabilia cards included so that there's more than 4 teams per year getting a memorabilia card

Cornering the market on these would be the issue, both for players and specific numbers. I say do them via in-numbered redemption, collect all 10 and send them in and they are sent back in number order

The issue is you are adding the cost of $10 per redemption card to the manufacturer not to mention the time to fulfil redemptions.....an overhead they would want to avoid.

As an example, 150 x 4 (unsigned) 50 x 4 (signed) + 130 x 1 (Matai) in this year alone.

= 930 redemptions to be sent out.....estimate $10 per card to be shipped, thats close to 10K on redemption costs.

If they could get jersey cards into packs without the need for filler cards (blanks to eliminate pack searching) they would.

Matt, I can fully understand where you are going with the stats, but this all depends on ESP.
For me I cannot fully understand why they are still stacking there preferred dealers cases, ie first 200 cases with mojo's and redemptions.
Christ sake they are only paying around 125 a box now.
With around 650 cases in supply, 200 that go to newsagents and have no box cards and bugger all in them, where is the fair chance for anyone to jag a decent card.
Willy Wonker would be disgusted and Charlie will be still sitting there and not buying any more chocalates, just like all the other kids just like football cards.
Esp, you are just killing your future collectors.
Soon, you only be able to buy cards from dealers and at a premium price.

Mojo's by redemption and / or 1 per box is a crazy idea. ESP themselves are responsible for the mojo's not selling well as they were stacked in the first 400 cases and they seemed to be pulled all over the place. I bet a few collectors ordered and bought cases just so they could hit a sapphire. Either all the inserts go through the whole production run or reduce the amount and split the boxes into hobby/collector and retail for the newsagents with a cheaper pack price.

I think this would only increase player hoarding. Instead of forking out for a set of 9 someone could just collect all the Thurstons Smiths etc for a lot less.
