yeah scrub rookies serve a purpose. i mean i bet a lot of people cursed when they pulled there Lin Rookies, then suddenly Knicks start him and BOOM! but once there past there rookie season then i dont wanna see any more of there autos, or atleast scale it right back to a few releases per player per year
you know what i cant stand? waiting on a redemption only to be sent a sticker auto. thats BS. Redemptions i can handle. and honestly id somewhat be happy with seeing more redemptions if it meant no more stick autos. i dont mind waiting, as long as im waiting for a good thing.
speaking of waiting my CP3 11-12 limited patch auto is getting pretty long in the tooth.....and i highly doubt they are going to suprise me with an on card auto
Hmmmm, as much as it is nice to see people collect these guys, in a day where most people are looking for value in their busting, I don't like that there's soooo many scrubs that are out of the League after their rookie contracts.
Millsap has collectors?
Plus what usually happens is that the top players have say /199 and the rest are /499, meaning there's way more junk out there.
You are right through, some do make it big, there's normally a few steals in the 2nd round that come good. I'd like to see more on cards of the top rookies and less cards of I. Thomas, who will never start in the League again.
Surely there's a Millsap super collector out there.... No hobby love for guys like him, ZBo, Marc Gasol hey!
Yeah imagine how much the product would be if was only the top 50 players in the league though! Doesn't even happen in National Treasures! Small base set, low numbered stuff of stars only, $1k/box?
Speaking of NT, I just looked at the checklist of some of the stuff yest and couldn't believe how many parallels there is! The 11v12 for eg, wow.
In some boxes, yes. But a $180 box where you pull only $3 autos? Keep the scrubs in the very low end stuff I reckon.
Completely disagree. So people that only collect the "big time" players will now only get the luxury of having the best RC's of their PC players!? No thanks! Not only that, busting has always been a gamble......... packing it with just good cards would devalue the cards even more as they become more common as you now want good cards in every bust. People today are already too spoilt, they just want more, more, more........ back in the day (going from your name your comments contradict themselves) getting good cards was very rare, there was no auto/GU in every pack or every box or what not, this stuff was rare and hence has a lot better value; nice inserts were rare; yes it sucked when u got jack s***, but loading boxes with everything would only devalue the cards more and make that hit you get less sweet.
If you don't wanna take the risk, don't bust.... simple; go and buy singles and you won't have a problem!
At the end of the day, they really don't care about collectors (Panini and even UD) they care about selling product. The secondary market means F all to them. They don't care if their cards don't hold value, they have newer product to sell.
I thought this was obvious!?
That's why I have more fun busting a $30 box of 90s than a $150 box of 2013's almost every time. It's also why I don't have enough space to fit my 50 folders of base sets
how great would it to have the old companys backExactly the reason why I haven't posted in the "show us your collection" thread yet. I have a bunch of base sets that I've busted boxes of over the last few years. I'll get to it though.
I agree with mat2323. Time for a revamp.
Bring UD, Fleer, Topps, Skybox back for the competition and then let the best card company win
lol, know what you mean, but its awsome busting those box's ay mate, i love looking at the old sets, alot of work went into them and real thought, i love my 94/94 fleer, am one card away from completing it lol
