thought id make a thread as i believe this series will be amazing. 2 teams pretty much at their peak, with experienced, playoff proven players and deep, talented benches, should be an absolutely brilliant series!

lets get our tips in now! im going with the upset...Mavs in 7!

I hope they both beat the crap out of each other, will make it easier for phoenix if by some miracle they make it to the WC finals again.
 
will be a great series, but spurs in 6.

wont be surprised if the spurs lose game 1. Mavs are rested, spurs are only gonna have a 36 hour turn around...

dirk vs bruce will be interesting, but the spurs have a way of allowing one player to get his (see kobe, amare, bonzi) and completely shutting the other 4 players down, and you cant win like that.

the only way the mavs win is if stack, howard and JT have massive series..and parker and manu forget how to play
 
will be interesting to see how finley plays against the old club, will it fire him up? and will duncans inside game beat dirks outside game? so many interesting match ups!

Mavericks in 6

I believe the Mavs are well rested and Dirk is out to prove himself this year. He will decimate the frontcourt of the Spurs with his ability to shoot the rock and take it to the basket. Jason Terry will be hard to contain as he's a very consistent shooter and the Mavericks will match Bruce Bowen with their own Josh Howard who can also score the rock.

Jerry Stackhouse, Marquis Daniels and Erick Dampier will all need to be on their game if Mavs want to win. But overall, the Man to lead them to victory, DIRK NOWITZKI!

Mavs in 6!!
 
It's obvious that whoever wins this series will be in the finals. These are the 2 best teams in the West and it makes for an awesome series. I want the Mavs to win but I think the Spurs will come through in 7. Will Van Horn be back or is it still too early?
 
I just hope the Mavs arent TOO rested up...

I believe they can win, no doubt about it!

Having a healthy Harris will be a HUGE PLUS for Dallas, having him on Parker, matching his speed, will allow for better defence, and hopefully LESS inside shots from the Spurs streaking PG.

Finley ALWAYS plays well against Mavs, f-ckit!!!

I think that Dampier will be throwing his body around in the middle, and this will be hard for the Spurs to match him physically.

Dirk/Bowen/Duncan will be the biggest impact on the game. Manu wont have an impact if J-Ho continues to play like he has been (20 & 8 ).

Not sure if Van Horn will be playing or not yet...... hopefully he will be an extra body they will have down low, and outside shooting.
 
i HOPE the Mavs win in 4, i hate the spurs...but i think the spurs will take it in 5 or 6 :(

If Terry can shut down Parker thats the key to the series, Parker killed Sacremento today and at the min hes probably the best point guard going around...

LETS GO MAVS KICK SOME SPURS ASS :)
 
Id say the Mavs will be too rested and will come out of the gates abit rusty!!! :D But I think Mavs in 7. It will be a very good seires to watch... They should really meet in the conference finals but the NBA playoff seedings screwed it up.

i think hes the best pure scoring point guard, its amazing i think he gets about 70-80% of his points inside the key! hes just fearless on the drive. but best overall PG in the league is still Nash, with Kidd a very close second.
 
I want the Mavs in 7, but think I would lean more to Spurs in 7! Unless a Spur gets injured the experience might be too tough. And also I think Mavs might be right, they might be too rested!

Yeah. I think they'll take it in 6 as well. But it's funny because they're such a strong team, they defeated a Memphis team consisting of-

Pau Gasol, Lorenzen Wright, Bobby Jackson, Mike Miller, Eddie Jones & Others

And when you check out the Dallas roster, they're only consistent great players are Dirk, Jason Terry, Josh Howard and Stackhouse??
 
Id like to see the last time dampier did ANYTHING against the spurs...

JT cant hang with parker, neither can harris...I think the mavs are so worried about the bowen vs dirk matchup...I dont think the spurs are going to go with bowen on dirk as much as they do in the reg season, expect dirk to see a whole lot of Big Shot Bob.

damp cant guard duncan, timmy will have a field day. and yep JT will get owned by parker. ginobili will be the x-factor, if he performs well, so will the spurs. by the same token, if howard and daniels play to their full potential, it will be very even. but on paper spurs do seem to have the upper hand in the matchup department. now that i think about it, id go with spurs in 6 or 7. on paper can be very different to how the games will play out though.
