Uggggggghh. Does it get any worse for the Lakers?
Bynum has reinjured his surgically repaired knee in the game against San Antonio and Steve Blake is out indefinitely with chicken pox. Barnes is out too but I don't expect him to be missing in action too long.
Oh and Kobe, Artest and Bynum apparently haven't had chicken pox before. GREAT, just GREAT.
NBA star Kobe Bryant says it's 'very possible' he will play in Italy during the lockout, saying the country is like home to him since he spent part of his childhood there.
Virtus Bologna has made numerous contract offers to the Los Angeles Lakers star and Bryant discussed the situation with Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport during a sponsor's appearance in Milan overnight.
"It's very possible. It would be a dream for me,'' Bryant told the Gazzetta.
"There's an opportunity that we've been discussing over the last few days. It's very possible and that's good news for me.''
Virtus said the latest talks were centred on a $2.5 million offer for 10 games over 40 days from October 9 to November 16.
That would come out to about $1.5 million after taxes.
The deal would allow Bryant to return to the Lakers immediately if the lockout ended.
Bryant, 33, spent several years in Italy when his father, Joe `Jellybean' Bryant, played with Rieti, Reggio Calabria, Pistoia and Reggiana from 1984-91.
The elder Bryant also once owned a small part of Olimpia Milano, while he now coaches the Los Angeles Sparks in the WNBA.
"Italy is my home. It's where my dream of playing in the NBA started. This is where I learned the fundamentals, learned to shoot, to pass and to (move) without the ball,'' Bryant said.
"All things that when I came back to America the players my age didn't know how to do because they were only thinking about jumping and dunking.''
I was going to post in here with the Kobe 'The Simpsons' thing but posted in the Rumours/Info thread, remember that!
The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to surrender Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom in a trade for New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul, sources tell ESPN.com's Marc Stein.
Sources close to the process tell Stein that the Houston Rockets remain part of the talks and are trying to complete a deal that would send Gasol in Houston and the Rockets' Luis Scola, Kevin Martin and Goran Dragic to New Orleans along with Odom.
In Paul, the Lakers would be getting an All-Star and U.S. Olympic Team member who has averaged 37.1 minutes, 18.7 points and 9.9 assists per game in his six seasons.
The Hornets had been fielding trade offers for Paul, who can opt out of his current contract after this season, in an effort to acquire new players for the star guard rather than letting him walk in free agency.

Horrible loss today. Done well to get into a winning position but had a horid last 2 minutes. Should be looking alot better when Bynum comes back tho. FT shooting also cost us with missing 4 straight in the 4th. On the up side i liked the look of Ebanks and Goudelock but suprised Barnes and Kapono didnt get any minutes.
A couple of bad calls in the last minute IMO cost the Lakers the game.
I know but I feel bad when you see the referees indecisions actually decided the game. Rose wouldn't have that bucket if the refs called travel on Deng.
