The Official BOSTON CELTICS thread

Sheed hold back today and not get caught up with trying to match a three barage from the suns and Richardson.

Glad to see Sheed took note of what I posted :yellow: My crystal ball was pretty spot on there. Richardson was the difference.

7pt game and he still kept firing away trying to play catchup. No D today and allowing 100pts is playing into the Suns hands. Disappointing:(....

We have an X on our backs as the number one team in the league this year it looks like and we have to bring it especially in our own building.

Good to see Rondo looking after the ball and his assist tally looks much better when you take off Nash's 6 TO's from his assist tally.

Actually... that title goes to 'The Current World Champions'. ;)

Pfft what do I know!! blowout the other way nearly....C's got torched from the 3 pt line and the ft line...
Only good news was it was my fantasy guy JRich doing the torching

Well even after yesterday the Suns coach thinks so...

“With the additions they made and a healthy KG, arguably they’re the best team in the league,” Gentry said. “This is the healthy team that they won the championship with so there’s no reason to think that they wouldn’t be a favorite to do it again. Obviously there’s the Lakers and Cleveland and Orlando is very good and very deep also, but with KG healthy, he’s just an anchor to everything that they’re all about.”

Back on track and boy did the guys looked switched on today. A few minutes of sloppy play each Q but we dictated play (something we failed to do against the suns), played the extra pass, got great looks and everybody contributed. Rondo had an easy time with Williams playing hurt, Rondo controlled the game and did pretty much as he pleased hurting the suns with his penetration and passing.

Perk was a beast early and got looked great offensively early on. This Celts team is really looking for Perk on the inside and in the post when they can. On any other team with less offense around him Perk would be a 20pt player.

Solid minutes off the bench and they all looked sharp as soon as they come on, the roles are already being defined with this unit and the guys fill their niche just fine. Willams and Daniels both look great and Wallace did more than just shoot tonight, his work boxing out was great too.

Our defending the middle wasn't great though and we gave up FAR too many offensive boards to the Jazz. Rondo normally cleans up there but was more concerned with staying with Deron and no one else filled the void or stepped up. Game was never in doubt after the 5 minute mark of the 1st where we simply looked switched on.

The few days rest certainly showed tonight and we ran when we wanted to. Actually we played a fairly fast paced game, more than I expected.

Moving to 8-1 after a fairly torrid start to the season.

good game today hehehe

didnt think that the addition of jamal crawford would be as effective for the hawks as it has so far but all round great effort today by the hawks

Congrats to the Hawks, the C's got done on the boards again. Horford looks the real deal this year on the boards...didn't see the game but disappointing loss by the C's

Not half expected, but didn't think we would lose by double digits..

The loss of Powe and Davis has hurt out defensive boards a lot this year. Each of those guys were more worried about blocking out rather than taking their individual matchups as much as the guys out there this year. Teams like the Hawks match up really well against us.

8-2 isn't too bad when the Cavs have looked shaky and most of the East is still behind us. We don't need to set records, only get home court thru to the finals.

Well a chance to grease the wheel when the erratic Warriors visit today. I'm in the cool and will get to see it at least and all i want is us to play our game and not down to the opp and get sucked into run and gun.

Perk aint happy with the practises and how its going and he is maturing nicely becoming a voice on the team. With Nelson injured and others going just OK getting a good start to the season before the all star break and our west coast swing.

Hopefully we get more out of House and Wallace today.

Noccioni just might be on his way though for the loss of JrGiddens, Scal and Tony Allen. Play wise I'd jump at that but his contract might kill the team a year or so down the road. Maybe Pierce and Allen WILL take that mighty pay cut to finish out Celts and hopefully with a ring or two more.

nocioni would definitely be a good addition to replace all of the above who provide nothing really... the other thing he brings is toughness

KGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!

WOW a game saved there! What a slump by Sheed, he has had great looks and still can't hit one.

Better to get back on track after the loss to the Magic and some down right terrible calls against us at home on Saturday.

Pierce single handily got us the win today. He willed the team over the line and the knicks had no answer for him. Rondo's work on the boards was impressive again today and one rebound short a triple double to go with 4 steals. Still he isn't the guy I want taking the shot at the end of the game no matter how his jumper has improved. A few chances to put the knicks away in regulation but Ray turned it over.

Solid game by Perk again as you said, he lost the plot on Saturday due to a ridiculous call and copped a tech. That call was pathetic and the replay showed it.
