Hoarding is good if it keeps the value and interest up compared to buying a full set and having it halve in value.........But would increase player hoarding if it was to go down that avenue, having to buy the full set is much better as it would annoy the crap out of me if I couldn't complete my team set as someone has taken all the one card
If you have to match serial numbers that's a pain. People would try and get 1 of a popular number for a team and hold it so that it can't ever be redeemed.Perhaps to resolve both issues they could be via redemption. For example, one ruby mojo redemption per box with the serial number and team, no player. Get 9 and you can redeem a set.

Have them for teams, but make them number neutral and assign by redemption order (or request seeing as first in will get #1 anyway)
Wouldn't surprise me if next year they introduce the rainbow mojo collection. 7 different coloured mojo's! Is ESP trying to kill off the average Joe Blow from being able to enjoy this hobby? Only the authorised selling agents will be able to collect the whole series and hold the market to ransom.There should only be one mojo set like in 2015 limited to 40. Three different sets is just crazy IMO
I think it was a case of we have these left, it would also been good to see a GF commemorative card with a Sharks v Storm patch, a nice gold stamped trophy logo in the middle of the card and patches either side...
No dud boxes! I love busting boxes / packets more than anything but when you pump nearly $200 into a box for a captain card then it hurts!
That's the way I interpreted it, a third player(or parallel) to the crystal collection, 30 cards but 2 players spanning their careers
I'm surprised that ESP hasn't had some sort of lawsuit against them over the boxes that were sent out to retail. Like you said it should be labeled as retail and hobby cases and the retail be cheaper if the sapphires (and guessing now emeralds) aren't in any of the retail boxesThe options for lower end insert sets that could be one per team are endless. To that end I think this is something that ESP/TLA need to focus on to bring a bit more value back to Elite boxes. I would love to see a bit of nostalgia make it's way back into the releases.
Here are a few I think could work;
Sharp Shooters - A themed set for the Goal kickers
Famous Nicknames
Then and Now - A dual card, one old player and one new. EG - WIKI / PAPA
16 Elite was a very good release but these high end releases are all about balance. I broke myself getting a Raiders Sapphire last year and would really love an Emerald this year but can I justify it?
I really hope for a couple of things to be fixed this year;
No stacked cases! If they want to sweeten the dealer cases more than the box card / case card that is fine but market the release as hobby and retail and have the retail a bit cheaper! I could be wrong but I don't think I heard of a Sapphire Mojo from a non-dealer box.
No dud boxes! I love busting boxes / packets more than anything but when you pump nearly $200 into a box for a captain card then it hurts!
Yep I hate 1/1's they're the best way to kill off longtime team collectorsAll the years of being a Raiders completionist destroyed by parallels and 1/1s
I wonder what the ACCC would say about this It's clearly misleading customers from ESPI bought heaps and heaps of packs of Elite through newsagents last year. I got absolutely smashed with dud boxes. I would say I hit atleast a dud every 2nd box! Didn't get anything higher than a regular jersey patch. No sign of mojos or jersey sigs!
I have no problem with supporting dealers but I should also be able to go down to my local newsagent and have the same chances of getting something good, as I would from a dealers box. Especially if I'm gonna pay the same price per pack and they advertise odds on the packs which are clearly false for newsagents stock!
If it's the same this year I won't be buying any more than a box for a common set

Yeah it's a huge change in collecting habits. When you have been used to chasing all the cards for a team every year there is definitely a sense of what's the point.
And then you look at the hit league card prices have taken in the past two years and wonder what's the point in selling up haha.
