Legends are easily the best set ESP have done but I have heard this might be the last year for them. The rumored legends for 17 were certainly great players but not on the level of the previous 8

Girdler sounds like a great choice, although yes, not exactly on the level of some of the past legends.

Raper, Johns, Lewis, Coote, Provan, Sterling, Langer, Menzies and ummm Girdler? haha. Tallis is at least parish with Menzies

My basis for a legend is top 100 from CORL. All previous legends have been aside from Menzies who like Tallis is pretty close to the mark

Yes in the panthers in regards to Alexander as he was named their best ever last season I believe

What about Mick Cronin or Brett Kenny, both named in the top 100 from CORL and only had horrible non official cards

I would have thought clubs who hadn't had players yet which is why Brisbane getting a second (third if you count the King as a Bronco) is ordinary. Did Channel 9 choose the legends this time?

Ain't a bad thing not getting a legend as it saves a couple of hundred bucks for the elite which will be even more costly this year

Have to agree here. I thought Menzies was incosistent, but I realized that he was pretty much Top 100 worthy, as he was still playing at the time (last season I think) and smashed Burge's record of a forward for most tries.

Just the excitement that was in your wording about it being a great choice where most other collectors have the similar feel as I do that he's hardly a legend
