The Official 2017 ESP/TLA NRL TRADERS thread. (Some new signing images added)

Looks like a decent release, canned 1 of the parallels and added a few more inserts. Predictors might be hard to complete based on those odds.

When does this launch?

I'm starting to think the Predictors may only redeem something for the Premiers which would take the attraction out of collecting this sub set for me if this is the case I think ESP have missed the beauty of Predictors.

Good thing though the Dragons Predictor even though limited should be pretty cheap.

May be cheap for a lot of teams , but there will be a lot that don`t surface if they don`t have a sell out or if they come out of packets at the newsagents....

2 Predictors per case will also make it interesting ......

I guess there will be a redeem by a certain date that will also take a few out of the mix.....

Startoons arent bad i think. I cant tell who the Knights one is supossed to be but all the others look fine.

With those being reminiscent of Gems and the predictors it feels like a Select throwback set

I hate those Startoons. Looks like maybe Thaiday for the Broncos?

I hate myself more for being so anal that I'll still find one to complete my set.

Maybe Korbin Sims for the Knights? Would have been done before he defected to Broncos.

Seems likely. I thought about him at first. The others I can tell automatically (Thaiday, Austin, Kasiano, Holmes, Hayne, DCE, Slater, Thurston, JWH, Woods, even Vatuvei on the side of the box)

There was, and I'm still sure there is.....can't understand why they wouldn't include that on the sell sheet though.

Maybe it was supposed to be a surprise as no one would expect them in a Power Play release but I guess the surprise is no longer ( if they are in the set after all ) .....:lol::lol:

I'd say it was an afterthought to help sell the product & generate more interest for the collectors hence why they are on common cards with an NRL sticker on the back. By using common cards they have the peace of mind that 1 in 9 players from each club would sign the card without doing special cards & redoing them if someone refuses to sign...

While we had intended to share the sell sheets tonight as per TLA's request (they got out earlier than TLA had wanted), there is some more information below for collectors which provides some context to both products:

NRL Traders 2017

The main points around the release are:
  • Traders RRP’s remain unchanged.
  • The ratios are noted on the sales flyer.
  • The release is packed full of value for collectors, we expect an early sell-out again this year!
  • There are 2 case cards design each limited to 325 cards per design all cards individually numbered, we have continued the Legend parallel series as in previous years.
  • The starter packs include a bonus card in every pack this year, the cards are limited to 3 designs one per pack (Miles Stone cards see sales flyer) this card is only available in the starter packs, product for dealers of this item is limited so get in early.
  • Albums contain two packets of cards, and 30 card sleeves, plus a bonus album card 1 of 18 (StarToon cards see the sales flyer) a parallel of what is in the packs this card is CMYK printed whereas the pack card is printed on clear plastic showing the front and back of the player. These cards are very very cool, thanks to Rif at JaJa’s Collectibles for the idea well done mate!!! They now replace the Galactic Hero’s going forward!
  • The big value included in the main release is:
  • SAS signature cards Authentic Limited to 100 (individually numbered) 18 Card Design
  • SAS Signature Gold Foil limited to 500 – 18 Card Designs
  • SAS Signature Black Foil limited to 750 – 18 Card Designs
  • Legends Signatures limited to 208 (individually numbered)
  • There are 15 retirement cards this year which represent some high profile players.

  • Dynamic Duo Cards 5 cards to collect limited to 100 per player
All New ! NRL Extreme 2017 Games Cards

The main points around the release are:
  • We are planning to market this release heavily this year, it will get top billing on all our social media campaigns and at retail, we have seen sales grow in 2016 so we want this momentum to continue.
  • We see this as a major growth area in 2017
  • Extreme RRP’s remain unchanged.
  • 2004 Boxes are on offer to dealers the balance has been allocated to Newsagents to keep up with the growth demand.
  • The ratios are on the sales flyer it’s a simple release but if we can protect the value of the cards on the secondary market we will see this fly to collectors.
  • We have vastly improved the card content and card design and totally redesigned the website, which now includes a lot more player information than before. The look of the cards and packaging has also changed for the better, a lot more grown up brighter and more visual.
  • We have included:
  • More states on each player both front and back of cards allowing for a Trivia game to be played as well as the usual games.
  • Stats are now on front and back of cards (refer team zone) allowing a higher level of game play than in previous years.
  • All cards are still individually numbered, we are launching a new website www.nrlgamecards.com which will increase online gameplay and member sign ups we currently sit at 10,000 members
  • We are seeing School age kids play a game called FLICK Card in the school yard, they use old Power Play cards to try and flick other Power Play cards out of a circle on the ground (think marbles). So to capitalize on this fad we have released a special Flick Cards in this set, which is made out of plastic. While still technically a game card the special Flick can be used to win as many cards form your mates as possible in a game of FLICK. 16 to Collect!
  • At only $2.99 this is still a great entry level product but now we have added in the Autograph cards and improved the cards design we are at a new level with this product.
  • The starter packs contain 4 packets of cards plus a BONUS starter pack card (Power Bomb Card 16 cards to collect) normally one per box so fairly rare and hard to set, this will drive the sales of starter packs this year to collectors.
  • Each Album Contains two packets of cards plus an album card (1 of 3 Mile Stone cards to collect) this is a parallel of the Traders Starter pack bonus card except using the Extreme branding, so will help us to cross sell this release to Traders buyers who are keen to collect the 6 card set.
  • Over all we have looked closely at others in the market for inspiration in this space, we really feel we are on a winner here.
