heres my list for who i think are the top 10 players all time (and i dont have 3 hours to sit and really think about it so its by no means definitive)

1. MJ
2. Larry Bird
3. Magic Johnson
4. Wilt
5. Kareem
6. Russell
7. Big O
8. Hakeem
9. Stockton
10. Duncan

I think this is a very good list!

I don't know about the order, but the first 7 are definately among the top of all-time.

I'd probably remove Stockton or Duncan and put in Jerry West and then Julius Erving definately was arguably in there.

jerry west def top 20, couldnt in good conscience put him in my top 10. same w/ dr j, a lot of his fame was about the style and athleticism that he brought to the game, i honestly could not put him above guys who have won every award there is like hakeem or duncan, or arguably the best all time PG in stockton.

i am sadden by ur omittion of Bill Russell, so with the current list, i voted Wilt Chamberlain.... who is only one player who scored 100 points and true champion....

Magic. Because he popularised passing, basically invented court vision as a skill, could play any position nearly as well as anyone in the league, could score whenever he wanted to and, most importantly, made every player he ever played with better.

Plus, Magic is pretty much the best name ever, even if it's not his legal name.

that's also true, but yeahh, while in my opinion the first 7 are locks, the next 3 are quite arguable, you could think about guys like West, Erving, Elgin Baylor etc for one of those spots too.
