The biggest advancement in card making last 20 years?

I have been collecting & @ sometimes making these cards wether it be the foiling/varnishing/die-cutting etc, I can't really see a lot of changes coming in the printing/finishing side of things.........you may start seeing more die-cuts,
As far as a lot of the other things, that yes, I agree Futera Aust. lead the way in ie: numbering & foiling, wouldn't change much .............so probably as for 'Serial numbered cards' .....we wont see it...........way to messy in the production stages & chance of misprints etc.......which inturn all increases the end cost to consumers/collector.
So all in all I dont see alot more changes, I do like the concept of add jerseys etc ..........that adds to the collecting on a more personal vs profit level.

Likewise a very interesting topic!!!!!!!!

Foiling? Embossing? Stamping? Holograms? Prisms? Die Cut? Acetate? Press plates? Wood cards? Thicker 132pt cardboard? Refractors??

All of the above !

The dowside to this is that they now produce that many of the cards plus the fact that they are more durable means we have little chance at owning many that will actually increase in value over time !

Thought of another thing that's helped advance collecting is Redemption Cards. Sure the process has become annoying, but think of some of the cards that never would be released if not for redemptions (ie 92/93 Shaq UD RC).
