Just wondering if anyone else is excited about this as I am!!!!

Went to last years and it was awesome.

This years lineup includes:
Taking Back Sunday, Thursday, Anti-Flag, Underoath, Senses Fail, Saosin and Parkway Drive.

As far as I know I don't think there is anyone else who likes this type of music, normally the Chaos tour has a bit more of a metal taste as well. The American version had Atreyu, Avenged Fold, and the Deftones.

It's going to be huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
im kinda disapointed about that line up after how good the american one is id give anything to see avenged sevenfold & deftones! Atreyu rock too. Only bands of intrest out of the aussie line up would be Anti-Flag & Parkway Drive far to much emo in the lineup grr!
 
i also went to last years i throught it was great. but this years lineup sucks abit . they should bring Deftones,Thrice over like the Us version of the tour
 
When I Saw The Us Lineup For This Tour I Would Have Throught They Would Have Brought Deftones,thrice For Sure To Head Line Just Like The Used And Story Of The Year Did Last Year. But After Seeing The Lineup I Dont Think Ill Go.. But If They Add Either Poison The Well, Butterfly Effect, Sunk Loto Or Cog At The Last Mintue Im There
 
I'm really there to see Underoath, Senses Fail & Taking Back Sunday for the 2nd time. TBS were one of the best live performances I saw, they were literally in shock at how big their following was in Perth, and they gave evrything to the fans with the lead singer singing the entire last song of the set hanging upside down by his legs from the rafters, I'm surprised he didn't pass out with all the blood rushing to the head! He had the mic wire completely tangled aroung his throat too, glad he didn't fall otherwise that would have gone down in rock death history!
 
im sick of all these new emo 'metal' bands (i hate using the term emo, but its the easiest way to describe them), my mate tried to get me into Coheed and Cambria and some other similar stuff and i just couldnt listen to it for more than a few minutes. its like a harder version of good charlotte and simple plan...

deftones are the only emoish band id listen to, but they were the original emo metal, they had their own style and no one can sing like Chino. KSE is the only emoish new metal i like, but their sound is SO heavy that i can get past the emo vocals.

Yeah I don't like the whole emo scene "we're being individuals, but we all where black and actually have a herd mentallity" but I just like good rock! Coheed have been around for awhile compared ot the newer emo bands, and at least they have they try to do something a bit different with their style, and all their songs actually come together to create a story which they are now just putting together in comic books which was the whole plan to start with.

Any one remeber those shirts that said "cheer up emo kid"? I always wanted one just to wear to an emo gig and see what they would do. Had a look for the shirt on an online store and they have changed it. "cheer" has been crossed out and replaced with "beat", and they have added an s to "kid", so it now says "beat up emo kids"! Hell yeah! :D
 
WOT THE... i got dragged along by my girlfriend last year, and it turned out pretty awesome.

i saw taking back sunday this year - that was sweet, it was outside, and as they rocked, it rained.,..so it went off. they played with alkaline trio and The getaway plan - i love these guys.
I could hear them playing from down the street it was that loud. So i cant wait to hear them indoors.
I'd like to know aht other locals get on the line-up, either way i'll be there.

by the way..im into mainly local or aussie, punk/emo/rock and supporting at gigs.
 
Hey ray sned me your addy, my best friend plays in Anime Fire a up-&-coming Perth band, I'll send you out a demo, or check them out at myspace where you can listen to all their songs! I used to play in a punk band for 6 years on the Bass and Vocals, but haven't done so in about 2 years!

The only local act on the TOC is Parkway Drive.
 
wow this years line up kinda sucks, way to much emo for my liking.
Bring back KSE with Adam D in the lineup and i would be their in a heartbeat.
Emo bands i like are: Atreyu, MCR and a few bands that have 1 or 2 good songs like Avenged Sevenfold etc. :cool:

Parkway Drive is the only band on the bill worth seeing.

Gordon7 you a fan of Butterfly Effect! They are one of the sickest Australian Bands out their and i am going to see them live next month which is going to be awesome. Their new album is alot different too their previous but i still like it, its much more rock than metal. Aisles of White, Slow Descent, Signs, Gone and Befour they Knew need to be downloaded hehe =P~ they are all awesome.

I dont think their has been any official annocements for BDO 07 but i heard rumors that The chillie peppers and Muse should be on the Bill. I like muse quite a bit so hope they can string together some other good bands and ill be there.
 
yeh and the emo thing is really booming in aus which sucks ass.
Man i went to the Butterfly Effect signing on saturday and their was a que of like 100 people and about 80 of them were emo and TBE arent even an emo band. One chick was decent looking and then you see her with all black which im ok with and then a nazi arm sleeve thingy over his long sleeve shirt and im like what the **** lol. And then in a the middle of the brissy city i see hundreds of them. It is getting bad lol #-o

Dude ive already got my Tixs for that gig.. @ the hifi its gonna rock carnt wait i love there new album ive had it for about 3 weeks now and im fully loving it. i dont think is as good as there first album but also just as good.

My other Fav bands would be Sunk Loto,Karnivool,Cog and some local Melbourne ones like Down To size and others like that. Im more into Nu Metal (i think thats what ppl label it) more then Emo
 
i wouldnt call deftones "emo" have you listened to Adreneline? Wont find anything emo on that ill agree the newer stuff is alot slower but its nice, not whiney crap about ex girlfriends if anything id class deftones "numetal" along with the 1000's of others from the usa anyways thats just what i think :)
 
define nu-metal please...ive never heard a proper definition of what nu-metal is supposed to be exactly (and dont say, "its like limp bizkit/linkin park etc")...

chino has the most emotional metal/hard rock voice ive ever heard, he can go from screaming rage to quiet insecurity in a flash, thats why i label their sound as emo.
 
Well NuMetal to me is heavy music with singing as well as sceaming vocals with abit of rapping in with it.. Some bands are Slipknot,Korn,Limp Bizkit (sorry but they are), Deftones, Sevendust, Taproot,Papa Roach,

Its Awesome music..
 
Emo used to be Dashboard Confessional which is still different to all the other "emo" bands out now. I don't rate much else quite close to Dashboard as emo, everything else I just call rock with a punk edge. The bands nowadays just dress emo which gives them the title.
 
yeh fair enough if thats why you label there sound as emo id just never herd the deftones being called emo before looks like "emo" takes on alot more music genre's than i knew. To me emo is simple plan, good charlotte sorta sound anyways lets not have a argument about what genre bands are lol
