Tap 'N' Play CA & BBL 2015/16 Official Thread.

I wonder if they have finalised the list for the common set?

Who will they put in the test subset? Half the team will be gone after the Ashes campaign! No Clarke, Harris & Rogers, with Haddin, Watson & Siddle tipped to retire along with a few others tipped to never play test cricket again.

Makes for a hard task for Tap N Play to get it right.

Keen to also see who they have signing for them. Is it some big names, or do they take a step back & do some rookies / State players?

I would like to see some new players that have not been done before. Steve Smith comes to mind straight away. He is our new Test Captain & has not had an official Sig card yet.

Perhaps some BBL ones too. Behrindorff for the Scorchers, Sandhu for the Thunder, KP for the Stars? etc etc

Maybe we will be seeing signature cards involving some the Southern Stars players.

either way the signature cards would probably need to be the higher profile players if TnP are wanting to get the resellers & the general buying public more involved with the release.

TnP will probably always be forced to play 'catch up' with the set list given printing schedules and the BBL trading periods - some BBL teams don't even have 15 players signed up yet. Unless of course they are just going with 14 players + a team logo card :)

Lots of options into the future with the Women's BBL. Maybe a mixed netball approach and having team sets with the male and female players for each BBL team.

I know that the lists will be finalised in the next few days and I heard that the test team is the last one to be finalised so you may not see Clarke in the test team set (or Rodgers if he retires).

For the signatures id expect 2 x Test players, 1 x ODI player 1 x T20 Player, 1 BBL Player and 1 X Southern Stars player.

Maybe even Union may get some cards again ;)

Damn.....you must have inside sources as i think you are pretty close to the mark on this one too!

No Logos in cricket but are in A League. They tried getting the womens BBL cards in as well but wont get done in time.

Thanks for the info Matt, you have done a great job keeping us informed. Both yourself and Tap N Play should be congratulated.

From what I am seeing this will be an outstanding release. Hopefully everyone gets behind this and buys up to support them. Other than the world cup cards last year, I can not remember Australian Cricket ever having a full release through servos etc. so this is HUGE for us all.

Great to see a comeback after a few years of nothing for us to collect.

Bring it on!

There is a picture of Meg Lannings card for this season on TnP's facebook page. They have also confirmed on facebook that they will be making union cards.

If these details are correct then those are some pretty big pack ratios for the Medal Winners & Signature Cards - if it's 36 packs per box that equates to 1 card per 5 boxes!

I'd suggest there will be 26 packs per box, meaning the Medal Winners and Signatures are one every 7 boxes.

Thanks Scotty_WCE, I stand corrected it was 26 packs in the TnP cricket set box last season. Thanks for picking that up.

That revised calculation just makes it even worse!

But certainly quite a diverse set of collectable cards. :)

Wow, that is going to be exceptionally hard to put together a set!

Reading those odds, you will only get four inserts per box, plus parallels.

No mention of game used cards in that info, thought they were confirmed for this set?

From what ive been told, you will either get one of the super stars or a future stars per box.

I haven't heard or seen anything about the Womens BBL card at all?

But I can definitely say that there is a game used jersey card in it......wont be easy to pull but it will be in there.

The signatures will be 1 in 7 boxes and the medalists will be 1 in 7 boxes as well so there will be 2 signatures and 2 medalists per case. I believe both are limited to 150 each.

Cheers
Matt

Thanks Matt26 for the clarification. The future/super star card ratios did seem a little high, when compared to last year when it was one SuperStar card per box.

Will again be a tough set to collect, but based on details so far it looks quite reasonable in terms of value for money at $4 per pack when compared to the recent Select Honours 2 release at around $6 per pack ($210 for a box of 36 packs).

Although the Select release guaranteed one certified signature card per box, there were a lot more players (25) and 400 of each, and Brownlow signatures being 1:8 boxes (6 players - 200 of each).

Shaping up as a good release, but certainly a release that will have to be a slow build.

Looking forward to the BBL memorable moments set. So many moments over the past 4 seasons, particularly those Sixers and Scorchers rivalry moments from the BBL01 and BBL04 finals. :)

Lots of broken bats, Super Overs and quickest 100 runs moments, and The Melbourne Stars had their fair share last season. Probably the most bizarre moment - Glen Maxwell's dismissal to Brisbane's Ryan Duffield.

Any thoughts on the BBL memorable moments that should be included?
