Very surprised that i'm already on the board with my first auto so early and i'm sure Kenny Anderson is not the worst player on the list either. On card is awesome too!

1997-98 Fleer - Off to a flying start! Nice to have a Duncan on the board already as well as a McGrady. The two Soaring Stars are actually different. The Hardaway is 1:2 whereas the Mailman is an embossed "High Flying" Soaring Stars which is 1:24.
Interesting thing with this release is that Fleer has done away with the gloss. Great imagery on these cards and the way they have done the players names is fine. Not a bad low-end set.
Also, the packs are different with a paper pack on the outside of a plain white plastic pack on the inside. Seems a bit unnecessary.
This was the first set I purchased a box of - a couple of years removed from actually collecting as a kid and just wanting to see what it was like to have a whole box.
No idea where I got it from online as I don't think eBay was around in Au yet. I just remember being really disappointed - not the glossy cards I expected from Fleer and didn't get any of the fun inserts the earlier sets had.
1997-98 Skybox Premium - Don't mind the look of these. Similar idea to Hoops but without the busy backgrounds. Did Antonio Daniels ever amount to anything?
