Steve Nash & Phil Jackson to New York?? hmmm that would be great

please they were all in their prime when he was, this whole prime thing in regards to nash is crap anyway, he doesn't play any different now to then.

Try it this way!

If you had the option, would you trade out Parker to get Nash??

WOW

Its not even a debate anymore, your obviously not a fan of Nash

and

Yeh i would trade for Nash if i was desperate to win a ring now but for the future i would stick with parker as his a lot younger

In their Primes i would Have Nash though

Fair enough! No one can force you to be right ;)

To start with I'm a massive Nash fan, collect him, have his jersey hanging on my wall so I'll try not to be biased but no promises ;)

Nash and Parker are very hard to compare as they have different play styles and different skill sets.
It would be a brave person to say Parker can pass better than Nash, he is an incredible offensive coordinator and it suits the running style of the Suns offense, and for this reason it is difficult to say he isn't one of the greatest PGs of the modern era as the PGs main role is to run the floor an coordinate plays.

That said Parker is definitely a better defensive player and scorer, I'm happy to admit that considering Nash does lack in his defense (not for lack of trying), and considering the players on the Spurs roster Parker is surrounded by it is impressive that he has the numbers he does as the spurs are by far a better well rounded team.

So I'd say they are two different types of point guard who are hard to compare, but to say Nash is not in the same league of point guards is a tad unfair.

I'd have Nash to run my offense and Parker on D :)

That's my two cents anyway.

Some us have lives and job the don;t revolve around computers or the Internet... It is absolutly pointless having this conversation/arguement with One Eyed, Biased AS FK Spurs fans..... TP is a great player, but 99% of NBA fans would agree that Nash is a better player then TP.....

AS for the whole in their prime comment... It is totally fking relevant you hard headed Spurs lover.... Your opinion is Biased, you can not have an unbiased opinion, it's as simple as that!

Nash I would have at the same age as TP anytime and team......

You can call me biased all you like, there are plenty of better point guards better than Tony p, I just don't think Nash is one of them, my original call was he is not up there with the greats. I always said he was a terrific player. As Farr 99% of fans I think your going a little far, I'd love to see NBA coach opinion polls on the pg topic, not fans that have probably played c grade most of their life.

Mate I'll be honest, almost all your comments seem harsh so of course some people get their back up and go a bit harder in the "discussion".

Steve (spurlec) is entitled to his opinion, he genuinely thinks Parker is better than Nash. There is an argument for it.

I think Nash is a flat out gun, but the way Tony Parker is starting to come in to his own, now people can make an argument.

Nick is right, they are so different. Parker can do amazing things, he gets in to the lane and finishes over big men. Nash pulls up for a nice little juicy 10-12 foot leaner or fade away. They are both soooo good, Nash is still.

I always thought no-one could get close to Chris Paul when he's on, but there's 3 guys right now, Paul, Rose and Parker. Then it's the next few like Deron and Rondo and Nash.

Tell me Parker's weakness?

But either way people argue, it's close. Nash in his prime is'nt way ahead, neither is Parker right now.

One thing I do know is, I don't want to see Nash bail and go to the Heat next year. That would tarnish his "legacy" for mine.

GO SPURS:)

Agreed nick had a great call. If he ever got his head together I would nearly take Williams ahead of all of them but rose is an absolute star and shattered he went down..

SOme of my comments are harsh, not all of my comments... the last couple were in relation to the whole, Nash lovers going quite, not my fault some people tend to live their working and personal lives on the computer...... Over reacted to that comment, yes. I return fire as it is sent towards me.....

To say Nash is not a great is just a shit stirring comment that was meant to spark debate etc etc... nothing more nothing less...

I have nothing to add here so I'll just do this

Its funny, I think they both are great, but not worth the debate here at all. The thread is about who is coming to NY..... MY TEAM! :)

Nash is a product of the offense that Mike D ran, Parker is a product of Manu and Duncan as I still feel that Duncan is the best in the league at his position.

Nash is an awesome floor general who sees things and is on the same page with all his players.

Parker is no Nash, nor is he Stockton, Deron, Mark Jackson, Hardaway (before his knees went bad), Dennis Johnson, Magic Johnson, Iverson, Walt, The Big O!!!

All these men leave Parker in the DUST. I am not a Parker hater, I would love to see him on the Knicks, however being a realist, I think the Spurs fans give him way too much credit. Without Duncan, I do not see Parker even carrying the shoes of Derrick Rose, Rondo or even Chris Paul on a bad night.

I love your passion though for the Spurs and for that, I love reading this post. However, its about the Knicks, so please stay on topic.

Have a nice day! :)

As a Nash fan im sure everyone will know where my loyalties lie.

At 38 years of age, he isnt far behind his prime years in Phoenix. He again just missed out on recording another 50% FG / 40% 3PT / 90% FT season which has only been done by a handful of people and given the players around him, to miss out on the Playoffs by a game is an insane achievement.

Seriously look at the roster he has around him. Gortat who granted played well this year, Jared Dudley, Channing Frye, Sebastian Telfair, a 38 year old Grant Hill, Robin Lopez....this is a side that massively overachieved.

The Suns had a few good runs at the title, meeting teams that were better than them and deserved to beat them. I read that they have 20 million in cap space next year so they should be able to buy a few good players to go with Nash if he stays.

As a player I do like Parker, as a person (based on first hand experiences a mate of mine who worked for the Spurs has told me) as a person I dont.

Both great players but in my mind, but I would take Nash as my PG anyday.

Cheers
Matt

Ok agreed endless argument, back to the Knicks, it would have to take some serious $$$$$ to get Phil Jackson out of his comfy little retirement to come and coach (not being nasty here) some awfully big egos,, it would be great to one day see the garden alive again.

doubt it. he would not really suit the heat either with james and wade with the ball in their hands most of the time anyway.
